Maintenance
Daily Cleaning:
- Unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
- Wash the carafe, carafe lid, filter basket, and single-serve components (K-cup holder, reusable filter) in warm, soapy water. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water.
Descaling (Monthly or as needed):
Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly.
- Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Run a full brew cycle without coffee.
- After the cycle, let the solution sit in the carafe for 15-20 minutes.
- Discard the solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly.
- Run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to flush out any remaining vinegar taste.
