Product Overview
The De'Longhi COM532M is an all-in-one combination coffee maker and espresso machine designed for brewing both drip coffee and espresso. It features a dual heating system, allowing for simultaneous preparation of coffee and espresso. The machine includes an advanced adjustable milk frother for cappuccino and latte preparation, a 10-cup glass coffee pot, and a digital touchscreen interface. It supports both ground coffee and coffee pods for espresso. The unit also includes a 24-hour programmable digital timer with an auto-shut off feature and a carafe warmer.

Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Remove any protective films or packing materials from the machine.
- Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat surface away from heat sources and water. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Water Reservoir: Fill the large 47oz water reservoir located at the back of the machine with fresh, cold water.
- Charcoal Water Filter: Install the charcoal water filter into the water reservoir as per the quick start guide to improve water quality.
- Initial Rinse: Before first use, perform an initial rinse cycle for both the coffee and espresso sections without coffee grounds to clean the internal components.

Operating Instructions
Drip Coffee Brewing
- Add Water: Open the lid on the right side of the machine and pour fresh water into the reservoir using the glass carafe.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place the gold-tone permanent filter or a paper filter into the filter basket. Add desired amount of ground coffee.
- Select Strength: Use the 'BOLD' button on the digital touchscreen to adjust coffee strength if desired.
- Start Brewing: Press the 'Coffee ON/OFF' button to begin the brewing cycle. The 24-hour programmable timer can be set for automatic brewing.
Espresso Brewing
- Power On: Press the 'Espresso ON/OFF' button to turn on the espresso function. Allow the machine to heat up.
- Prepare Portafilter: Insert the appropriate filter basket (single, double, or POD) into the portafilter. Add finely ground espresso coffee or a coffee pod.
- Tamp Grounds: If using ground coffee, tamp the grounds evenly with the provided coffee tamper (DLSC058).
- Attach Portafilter: Securely attach the portafilter to the espresso group head.
- Brew Espresso: Place a cup under the portafilter spouts. Press the single or double shot button to start brewing.
Milk Frothing
- Activate Steam: Press the steam button on the control panel to heat up the steam wand.
- Prepare Milk: Fill a frothing pitcher with cold milk.
- Froth Milk: Immerse the steam wand into the milk. Turn the steam knob on the side of the machine to release steam. Adjust the steam wand to achieve desired micro-foam for lattes or a thicker foam for cappuccinos.
- Clean Wand: After frothing, wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth and purge a small amount of steam to clear any milk residue.

Maintenance
Daily Cleaning
- Empty and clean the drip tray and coffee grounds container.
- Wash the glass carafe and filter basket with warm, soapy water.
- Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
Descaling
Regular descaling is essential to maintain machine performance and extend its lifespan. The machine will indicate when descaling is required. Use the provided descaling solution and follow the instructions in the full manual for the descaling procedure.
Troubleshooting
- No Coffee/Espresso: Ensure the water reservoir is filled and the machine is powered on. Check if the portafilter is correctly inserted for espresso.
- Weak Coffee/Espresso: Verify that the correct amount of coffee grounds is used and that they are tamped properly for espresso. Adjust the 'BOLD' setting for drip coffee.
- No Steam: Ensure the steam function is activated and the steam wand is not clogged.
- Leaking: Check that all removable parts, such as the water reservoir and drip tray, are correctly seated.
