1. Introduction
The De'Longhi All-in-One Combination Coffee Maker and Espresso Machine (Model COM532M) is designed for crafting authentic cappuccino, espresso, and drip coffee. 2. Setup
2.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all included accessories are present:
- Combination Coffee and Espresso Machine
- Glass Coffee Pot - 10 cup

- Measuring Spoon

2.2 Initial Cleaning
Before first use, wash the glass carafe, filter basket, portafilter, and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
2.3 Water Reservoir
Fill the water reservoir located at the back of the machine with fresh, cold water. Ensure the water level does not exceed the MAX indicator. For espresso, the water reservoir is separate from the drip coffee side.
2.4 Power Connection
Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Drip Coffee Brewing
- Prepare the Filter: Open the coffee compartment on the right side of the machine. Insert the gold-tone permanent filter or a paper filter into the filter basket.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the filter.
- Add Water: Fill the drip coffee water reservoir (located on the right side, accessible by pulling out the compartment) with fresh, cold water according to the desired number of cups.
- Place Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is placed on the warming plate.
- Select Brew Strength: Use the 'Bold' button on the digital touchscreen to select a stronger brew if desired.
- Set Timer (Optional): Use the 'Hour' and 'Min' buttons to set a delayed brew time.
- Start Brewing: Press the 'Coffee ON/OFF' button to begin brewing. The machine will automatically keep the coffee warm after brewing.

3.2 Espresso Brewing
- Prepare Portafilter: Select the single or double shot filter basket and insert it into the portafilter.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Add finely ground espresso coffee into the filter basket. Use the measuring spoon/tamper to compact the grounds firmly.
- Attach Portafilter: Insert the portafilter into the group head on the left side of the machine and twist it firmly to lock it into place.
- Place Cup: Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray beneath the portafilter.
- Start Brewing: Press the 'Espresso ON/OFF' button. The light will blink while warming up and become steady when ready to brew. Press the button again to start the espresso extraction.
- Stop Brewing: Manually press the 'Espresso ON/OFF' button again to stop the flow once the desired amount of espresso is reached.

3.3 Milk Frothing
- Prepare Milk: Fill a frothing pitcher with cold milk.
- Activate Steam Wand: Turn the steam wand knob to the steam position. Wait for the steam indicator light to become steady.
- Froth Milk: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Turn the steam knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create micro-foam for lattes or thicker foam for cappuccinos.
- Stop Steaming: Turn the steam knob off once desired foam is achieved.
- Clean Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Daily Cleaning
- Empty and clean the drip tray after each use.
- Wash the portafilter and filter baskets with warm, soapy water.
- Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
- Clean the steam wand immediately after frothing milk. Many parts are removable for easy cleaning.
4.2 Descaling
The machine will indicate when descaling is required. Use the provided De'Longhi descaling solution and follow the instructions in the Quick Start Guide for the descaling process.
4.3 Water Filter Replacement
Replace the charcoal water filter as recommended in the Quick Start Guide or when the machine indicates. This ensures optimal water quality for brewing.
5. Troubleshooting
- No Coffee Flow: Check if the water reservoir is filled, the portafilter is correctly locked, and the filter basket is not clogged.
- Weak Espresso: Ensure coffee grounds are finely ground and tamped firmly.
- No Steam from Wand: Verify the steam function is activated and the water reservoir is adequately filled.
- Machine Not Turning On: Check power connection and ensure the machine is plugged into a working outlet.
- Error Messages: Refer to the Quick Start Guide or the full Instruction Manual for specific error code interpretations and solutions.
