Invicta Aviator Model 38965 Quartz Watch Instruction Manual

Your guide to setting up, operating, and maintaining your Invicta timepiece.

Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the Invicta Aviator Men's 45mm Stainless Steel Blue Dial VH67 Quartz Watch, Model 38965. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper use and care of your watch. This watch features a precise quartz movement, a durable stainless steel construction, and 100 meters of water resistance.

Setup

Setting the Time

  1. Locate the crown on the right side of the watch case.
  2. Gently pull the crown out to Position 2 (the outermost position). The watch hands will stop.
  3. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the desired time. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set, especially if the watch has a 24-hour sub-dial.
  4. Once the time is set, push the crown back into Position 0 (normal operating position) to start the watch.

Setting the Date and Day

Your Invicta Aviator watch features a date and day display. To set these:

  1. Gently pull the crown out to Position 1 (the first click).
  2. Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the Date.
  3. Rotate the crown clockwise to adjust the Day of the Week.
  4. Avoid setting the date or day between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism. If you need to set the date during this period, first set the time outside this range, adjust the date/day, then reset the time.
  5. Once the date and day are set, push the crown back into Position 0.

Adjusting the Bracelet

The stainless steel bracelet features a fold-over safety clasp for secure wearing. To adjust the bracelet size, links may need to be added or removed. This process typically requires specialized tools and should ideally be performed by a qualified watch technician to prevent damage to the bracelet or clasp.

Operating

Timekeeping

Your watch is powered by a precise VH67 Quartz movement, providing accurate timekeeping. The main hands display hours, minutes, and seconds. The sub-dials indicate the day of the week, the date, and a 24-hour format.

Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). This rating makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for diving. To maintain water resistance, ensure the crown is always fully pushed into Position 0. Do not operate the crown or pushers (if present) while the watch is wet or submerged in water.

Tachymeter Bezel

The watch features a fixed tachymeter scale on its bezel. A tachymeter is used to measure speed over a known distance. To use it, start the watch (or a stopwatch function if available) at the beginning of a measured mile or kilometer. When you reach the end of the distance, the number on the tachymeter scale corresponding to the second hand's position indicates the speed in units per hour (e.g., miles per hour or kilometers per hour).

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your watch, wipe the stainless steel case and bracelet with a soft, damp cloth. For the Flame Fusion crystal, use a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish or crystal.

Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by one nonstandard battery. When the battery runs low, the second hand may start to skip seconds or stop entirely. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watchmaker or service center to ensure the watch's water resistance is maintained and to prevent damage to the movement.

Water Resistance Seal Check

Over time, the gaskets that ensure water resistance can degrade. It is recommended to have your watch's water resistance seals checked periodically, especially if the watch is frequently exposed to water. This service can be performed by an authorized Invicta service center.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running:
Check if the crown is fully pushed into Position 0. If the watch still does not run, the battery may need replacement.
  • Incorrect Time/Date:
Refer to the "Setting the Time" and "Setting the Date and Day" sections to reset the watch. Ensure you avoid setting the date/day during the restricted hours (9:00 PM - 3:00 AM).
  • Condensation Under Crystal:
If you notice condensation under the crystal, this indicates a breach in the water resistance. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center to prevent further damage to the movement.
