  1. Thread each end of the neck strap through the strap lugs on the sides of the binoculars.
  2. Adjust the strap length for comfortable carrying around your neck. Ensure it is securely fastened to prevent accidental drops.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Adjusting Interpupillary Distance

Hold the binoculars up to your eyes and look through them. Adjust the distance between the two barrels by moving them closer or further apart until you see a single, clear circular field of view.

4.2 Focusing the Binoculars

  1. Diopter Adjustment: Close your right eye and look through the left eyepiece. Rotate the central focusing wheel until the image is sharp.
  2. Diopter Adjustment Ring: Close your left eye and look through the right eyepiece. Rotate the diopter adjustment ring (usually on the right eyepiece) until the image is sharp.
  3. General Focusing: With both eyes open, use the central focusing wheel to adjust focus for different distances. The diopter setting should remain constant for your eyes.

4.3 Using the Built-in Compass

The Eterna Navigator 3 features an integrated compass for navigation. When looking through the binoculars, the compass scale will be visible at the bottom of the field of view.

To read the compass, align the binoculars with your desired bearing. The numerical scale will indicate the direction. Be aware that magnetic interference from metal objects or electronic devices can affect compass accuracy.

4.4 Activating the Compass Light

For use in low light conditions or at night, press the compass light button located near the compass. This will illuminate the compass scale, making it easier to read. Release the button to turn off the light and conserve battery power.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Lenses

Use the provided lens cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optics. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust and smudges. For stubborn dirt, a small amount of lens cleaning fluid can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.

Caution:

5.2 Cleaning the Binocular Body

Wipe the body of the binoculars with a soft, damp cloth. For saltwater exposure, rinse the binoculars with fresh water and dry thoroughly to prevent salt buildup.

5.3 Storage

When not in use, store the binoculars in their carrying case with the lens caps attached. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.

5.4 Waterproof Integrity

While the binoculars are waterproof and nitrogen-filled, avoid unnecessary exposure to water pressure or submersion beyond their intended use. Ensure all caps and covers are securely closed before exposing to water.
