5. Setup

5.1 Hardware Installation

1. Hard Drive Installation (HDD not included):
   • Unscrew and remove the top cover of the DVR.
   • Connect the SATA power and data cables from the DVR to the hard drive.
   • Secure the hard drive inside the DVR using the provided screws.
   • Replace the top cover and secure it with screws.
2. Connect Cameras: Connect your analog cameras to the BNC video input ports on the rear panel of the DVR.
3. Connect Monitor: Connect a monitor to the HDMI or VGA output port.
4. Connect Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from the DVR's LAN port to your router or network switch.
5. Connect USB Mouse: Plug the USB mouse into a USB port on the DVR.
6. Power On: Connect the power adapter to the DVR and then to a power outlet. The DVR will power on automatically.

5.2 Initial Configuration

1. First-Time Startup: Upon first boot, the DVR will guide you through a setup wizard.

• Go to Menu > Record > Schedule to adjust recording times.
• Go to Menu > Alarm > Motion Detection to configure motion-triggered recording.

6.3 Playback

To view recorded footage:

1. Go to Menu > Playback.
2. Select the camera(s) and the date/time range you wish to review.
3. Use the playback controls (play, pause, fast forward, rewind) to navigate through the footage.

6.4 Remote Access (Hik-Connect)

The Hik-Connect app allows you to view live footage, play back recordings, and receive alerts on your smartphone or tablet from anywhere with an internet connection.

1. Download the Hik-Connect app from your device's app store.
2. Create a Hik-Connect account.
3. Add your DVR to the app by scanning the QR code on the DVR or manually entering its serial number.
4. Ensure your DVR is connected to the internet and Hik-Connect service is enabled in the DVR's network settings.

7. Maintenance

• Regular Cleaning: Keep the DVR free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.

• Cannot Access Remotely:
