Setup
Powering the Radio
The ECG R 105 can be powered by either batteries or a USB power source.
- Battery Installation:
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
- Insert 4x 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
- USB Power Connection:
- Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the DC IN 5V port on the side of the radio.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a compatible USB wall adapter (5V, 1A output, not included) or a powered USB port.
Antenna Adjustment
For optimal FM reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. Adjust its position for the best signal quality.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
Press the I/O button to turn the radio on or off.
FM Radio Tuning
- Press the FM button to enter FM radio mode.
- Automatic Scan: Press and hold the ENTER/SCAN button to automatically scan for and save available FM stations.
- Manual Tuning: Use the Up/Down Arrow buttons to manually tune to a desired frequency (87.5-108 MHz).
Saving and Recalling Presets
The radio supports 30 FM presets.
- To Save a Preset:
- Tune to the desired FM station.
- Press and hold the PRESET button until the preset number flashes on the display.
- Use the Up/Down Arrow buttons to select a preset number (P01-P30).
- Press ENTER to confirm and save the station.
- To Recall a Preset:
- Press the PRESET button repeatedly to cycle through saved stations.
- Alternatively, use the P1 or P2 buttons for direct access to the first two presets.
Setting the Alarm
The radio features an alarm with options for signal or radio wake-up.
- Press the MENU/INFO button to enter the menu.
- Use the Up/Down Arrow buttons to navigate to the alarm setting.
- Press ENTER to select.
- Set the alarm time, alarm source (signal or radio), and volume using the Up/Down Arrow and ENTER buttons.
- To snooze a sounding alarm, press the SNOOZE button.
Volume Adjustment
Rotate the Volume Knob on the side of the radio to increase or decrease the audio output.
Headphone Use
Plug 3.5 mm headphones into the Headphone Output jack for private listening. The internal speaker will be muted automatically.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the radio with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the surface.
Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator on the LCD display shows low power, replace all four AA batteries with new ones to ensure optimal performance.
Antenna Care
Handle the telescopic antenna gently to prevent bending or breaking. Retract it when not in use or during transport to protect it.
