Setup
1. Attaching the Reel to the Rod
- Ensure your fishing rod's reel seat is clean and free of debris.
- Place the reel foot into the fixed hood of the reel seat.
- Tighten the screw-down collar of the reel seat until the reel is securely fastened. Do not overtighten.
2. Spooling the Line
- Open the bail arm.
- Tie the fishing line to the spool using an arbor knot or similar secure knot.
- Close the bail arm.
- Hold the line under slight tension and begin reeling slowly, ensuring the line lays evenly on the spool.
- Fill the spool to approximately 1/8 inch (3mm) from the rim to prevent line tangles and maximize casting distance.
Line Capacity: Monofilament: 270/2, 160/4, 110/6 (yd/lb); Braided: 95/10, 75/15, 65/20 (yd/lb).
Operating Instructions
1. Casting
- Hold the rod and reel comfortably.
- Open the bail arm.
- Hold the line against the rod with your index finger.
- Swing the rod forward, releasing the line with your index finger at the desired point in the cast.
- Close the bail arm manually or by turning the handle to prepare for retrieval.
2. Retrieval
- Turn the handle to retrieve the line. The Silent Drive system ensures smooth and quiet operation.
- Maintain consistent tension on the line during retrieval.
3. Drag Adjustment
- The drag system controls the amount of resistance the line experiences when a fish pulls on it.
- Turn the drag knob clockwise to increase drag tension and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- Set the drag to approximately 25-30% of your line's breaking strength.
- Maximum drag for this model is 11 pounds.

- Storage: Store the reel in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Stiff or noisy retrieve | Lack of lubrication, dirt/debris in gears, worn bearings. | Clean and lubricate moving parts. If problem persists, consult a service center. |
| Line tangles or uneven spooling | Over-spooling, twisted line, worn line roller. | Reduce line amount, re-spool line, check line roller for smooth rotation. |
| Drag slipping or inconsistent | Drag washers are dry, dirty, or worn. | Clean and lightly grease drag washers (if applicable), or replace if worn. |
