If you wish to improve signal reception, you can connect external antennas (sold separately) to the two antenna connectors on the back of the router.

4. Initial Power On:

Press the power button (if available) or wait for the router to automatically power on. The router will begin searching for a 4G LTE network. The signal indicator will show the network status.

Operating Instructions

1. Connecting to the WiFi Network:

The router broadcasts a WiFi network. The default SSID (network name) and password (WiFi Key) are usually printed on a label on the bottom or back of the router.

  1. On your WiFi-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, laptop, PC), search for available WiFi networks.
  2. Select the network name (SSID) corresponding to your ZTE MF293N router.
  3. Enter the default WiFi password when prompted.
  4. Once connected, your device should have internet access.

2. Accessing the Web Management Interface:

You can configure advanced settings of your router via its web management interface.

  1. Ensure your device is connected to the router's WiFi network or via an Ethernet cable to the WAN/LAN port.
  2. Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
  3. In the address bar, type the default IP address of the router (commonly 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) and press Enter. This information is usually on the same label as the WiFi details.
  4. Enter the default username and password (commonly admin for both) when prompted.
  5. From the web interface, you can change WiFi settings, view network status, manage connected devices, and more.

3. Using the WAN/LAN Port:

The router includes a WAN/LAN port that can be used for wired connections to a computer or other network devices, or to connect to an existing wired network as an Access Point.

  • LAN Mode: Connect a device (e.g., PC, game console) to this port using an Ethernet cable for a wired internet connection.
  • WAN Mode (Access Point): Configure the router in Access Point Mode via the web interface to use an existing wired internet connection and broadcast WiFi.

Maintenance

1. Regular Cleaning:

Keep the router clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.

2. Firmware Updates:

Periodically check the ZTE official website or the router's web management interface for available firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated ensures optimal performance, security, and access to new features.

3. Optimal Placement:

Place the router in a central location, away from obstructions, large metal objects, and other electronic devices that may cause interference. This helps ensure optimal WiFi signal coverage.

4. Power Cycling:

If you experience connectivity issues, try power cycling the router. Disconnect the power adapter, wait for 10-15 seconds, then reconnect it. Allow the router to fully restart.
