Product Overview

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Wash: Before first use, wash all parts of the coffee maker with water. Do not use detergents or place in a dishwasher.
  3. Initial Brews: To season the coffee maker and ensure optimal flavor, brew coffee 2-3 times and discard the coffee. This helps to remove any manufacturing residues and allows the aluminum to develop a protective patina.

Operating Instructions

  1. Fill the Boiler: Fill the lower chamber (boiler) with cold water up to the level of the safety valve. Do not exceed this level.
  2. Add Coffee: Insert the funnel filter into the boiler. Fill the filter with ground coffee for moka pots. Do not press or tamp the coffee. Ensure no coffee grounds are on the rim of the boiler to ensure a tight seal.
  3. Assemble: Screw the upper part (collector) firmly onto the boiler. Ensure it is tightly closed without excessive force.
  4. Place Cups: Position the two included espresso cups on the aluminum support plate.
  5. Heat: Place the coffee maker on a medium-temperature heat source (induction, gas, or electric hob).
  6. Brew: The water in the boiler will heat up and rise through the coffee grounds, brewing espresso directly into the cups. The aluminum plate will keep the cups warm.
  7. Serve: Once brewing is complete, remove the coffee maker from the heat source and serve immediately.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity of your coffee maker and the best coffee flavor.

  • Rinse Only: After each use, rinse the coffee maker thoroughly with water only.
  • No Detergents: Do not use detergents or abrasive materials, as these can damage the aluminum and alter the coffee's taste.
  • No Dishwasher: The product should not be washed in a dishwasher.
  • Dry Thoroughly: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling and storing to prevent oxidation.

Troubleshooting

  • Coffee Not Brewing: Ensure the water level is below the safety valve and the coffee maker is tightly screwed together. Check that the heat source is adequate.
  • Weak Coffee: Check the coffee grind size; it should be suitable for moka pots (medium-fine). Ensure the filter basket is adequately filled.
  • Water Leaking: Verify that the coffee maker is tightly assembled and that the gasket is properly seated and not worn. Ensure no coffee grounds are on the rim.
  • Metallic Taste: This can occur with new coffee makers. Perform several initial brews with discarded coffee to season the pot. Ensure thorough rinsing after each use.
