1. Introduction

The EASYGUARD ERS001 is a universal remote starter module designed for key start DC12V vehicles. It is compatible with both automatic and manual transmission vehicles, as well as diesel and gasoline engines. This module allows you to remotely start or stop your vehicle using your existing factory original remote control or an aftermarket remote control. This kit does not include a separate remote control.

2. Main Features

• Remote Engine Start & Stop: Utilize your vehicle's existing key fobs or aftermarket key fobs to remotely start and stop the engine.
• Compatibility: Designed to be compatible with your car's existing alarm system or keyless entry system.
• Adjustable Engine Start Time: The remote engine start duration can be set to either 10 or 20 minutes (default is 10 minutes).
• Automatic Vehicle Lock: The vehicle will automatically lock after a successful remote start.
• Immobilizer Bypass Requirement: If your vehicle has a chip immobilizer in its original remote, an additional bypass module (e.g., ASIN: B07NSLPBG7 or B00MEHBVIC) is required for proper function.

4. Installation Instructions

Professional Installation Recommended: This remote starter should be installed by a professional installer. Incorrect installation can lead to vehicle damage or malfunction.

Safety Precautions:

• Always measure voltage with a voltmeter before making connections.
• Connect all cables properly before plugging them into the starter module control box.
• Ensure all connections are secure to prevent short circuits or loose contacts.

Immobilizer Bypass: If your car's original remote has a chip immobilizer, an additional bypass module is required. This bypass module should be placed where the keyhole senses the chip, otherwise the car will not start.

5. Installation Location

It is recommended to fix the module in a dry place using adhesive or similar methods. A suitable location is often near the fuse box, which is typically located above the foot brake.

6. Operating Instructions

To remotely start or stop your vehicle using your existing remote control:

1. Ensure the vehicle is in a locked state.
2. Press the unlock button on your original remote control three (3) consecutive times.
3. Pressing the button too fast or too slow may prevent the command from registering. Aim for approximately one second per press.

Note: The remote engine cut-off function is only applicable to vehicles that can disarm or unlock when the key is turned to the ON position.

7. Troubleshooting

• Vehicle Not Starting: Verify all wiring connections are secure and correct. Check if a bypass module is needed and properly installed for vehicles with chip immobilizers.
• Remote Command Not Responding: Ensure you are pressing the unlock button on your remote control three times with consistent timing (approximately one second per press). Check the battery in your remote control.
• Engine Cuts Off Unexpectedly: Confirm that your vehicle supports the remote engine cut-off function (i.e., it can disarm/unlock when the key is in the ON position).
• General Malfunction: Re-check all installation steps. If problems persist, consult with a professional automotive electrician or the product manufacturer for assistance.
