4. Setup
4.1. Installing Cutting Discs
- Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply.
- Press and hold the spindle lock button.
- Use the hex key to loosen the clamping nut and remove the outer flange.
- Place the diamond cutting discs onto the spindle, ensuring the rotation direction arrows on the discs match the arrow on the tool. For two discs, place a spacer between them.
- Reinstall the outer flange and tighten the clamping nut securely with the hex key while holding the spindle lock button.

4.2. Adjusting Cutting Depth
The cutting depth can be adjusted continuously to suit your application.
- Loosen the depth adjustment knob.
- Move the guide plate to the desired depth indicated on the scale (up to 40 mm).
- Tighten the depth adjustment knob firmly to secure the setting.

4.3. Adjusting Cutting Width
The cutting width can be adjusted by adding or removing spacers between the cutting discs.
- Follow the steps for installing cutting discs (Section 4.1).
- Insert or remove spacers as needed to achieve the desired cutting width (up to 38 mm).
- Ensure all components are securely tightened before operation.
4.4. Connecting Dust Extraction
For a cleaner work environment and improved visibility, connect a wet/dry vacuum cleaner to the dust extraction adapter.
- Attach the hose of a suitable wet/dry vacuum cleaner to the dust extraction port on the wall chaser.
- Ensure the connection is secure to prevent dust leakage.

5. Operation
5.1. Starting the Tool
After ensuring all safety precautions are met and the setup is complete:
- Connect the tool to a suitable power outlet.
- Hold the tool firmly with both hands.
- Press the ON/OFF switch. The soft start feature will gradually bring the discs to full speed.
5.2. Cutting Technique
The Einhell TE-MA 1700 is designed for a pulling cut motion.
- Position the tool with the guide plate flat against the workpiece.
- Engage the power switch.
- Slowly guide the tool along the desired cutting line, pulling it towards you. Apply steady, even pressure.
- Avoid forcing the tool, as this can trigger the overload protection.
- For deeper channels, multiple passes may be required.
- After cutting, the material between the two grooves can be removed using a hammer drill or chisel.

5.3. Working on Different Materials
This wall chaser is suitable for masonry materials. Always ensure the diamond cutting discs are appropriate for the specific material being cut.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your tool. Always disconnect the power plug before any maintenance work.
6.1. Cleaning
- After each use, clean the tool thoroughly, especially the ventilation slots and the area around the cutting discs.
- Use a brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris. Do not use water or chemical cleaning agents.
- Ensure the dust extraction port is clear of blockages.
6.2. Disc Replacement
Replace cutting discs when they become worn or damaged. Refer to Section 4.1 for disc installation instructions.
6.3. Storage
- Store the wall chaser in its transport case in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.
