4. Setup

  3. Press the ON/READ button again to take a measurement. The result will be displayed on the screen.

5.2 Changing Measurement Units

Press the UNIT button to cycle through available units: meters (m), inches (in), feet (ft), and feet+inches (ft+in).

5.3 Setting Reference Points

The device can measure from its front or back edge. Press the Reference button to switch between these two reference points. An icon on the display will indicate the active reference point.

5.4 Mute Function

To mute the device's sound, press and hold the Mute button. Repeat to unmute.

6. Measurement Modes

Press the Area/Volume/Indirect Measurement button to cycle through the following modes:

6.1 Single Distance Measurement

Measures the linear distance between two points. (Refer to 5.1 Basic Distance Measurement).

6.2 Area Measurement

  1. Select Area mode.
  2. Measure the length.
  3. Measure the width. The device will automatically calculate and display the area.

6.3 Volume Measurement

  1. Select Volume mode.
  2. Measure the length.
  3. Measure the width.
  4. Measure the height. The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.

6.4 Pythagorean Measurement (Indirect Measurement)

Used to measure heights or distances indirectly when direct measurement is obstructed. Follow the on-screen prompts to take the required measurements (e.g., hypotenuse and one leg for height calculation).

6.5 Continuous Measurement (Min/Max)

In this mode, the device continuously measures as you move it, displaying the current, minimum, and maximum distances. This is useful for finding the shortest or longest distance to a surface.

6.6 Addition and Subtraction

After taking a measurement, press the +/- button to enter addition or subtraction mode. Take another measurement, and the device will add or subtract it from the previous result.

6.7 Memory Storage

The device can store up to 20 sets of measurement data. Press the History button to view stored records.
