Setup Instructions

1. Attaching the Fluid Head to a Tripod/Monopod

The Komodo K5S Fluid Head features a standard 3/8-inch thread connection on its base, making it compatible with most tripods, monopods, and camera sliders.

1. Align the 3/8-inch screw on your tripod or monopod with the threaded hole at the base of the fluid head.
2. Rotate the fluid head clockwise until it is securely fastened. Ensure it is tight to prevent wobbling.

2. Attaching the Pan Handle

The detachable pan handle can be positioned on either the left or right side of the fluid head for user comfort.

1. Locate the rosette mount on either side of the fluid head.
2. Insert the pan handle into the desired rosette mount.
3. Tighten the locking lever on the pan handle to secure it in place.

3. Attaching the Quick Release Plate to Your Camera

2. Slide the camera (with the attached quick release plate) into the fluid head's receiver from the back. The security anti-pin will prevent the plate from sliding all the way through.
3. Push the quick release plate fully into the receiver until it clicks into place.
4. Engage the quick release plate locking lever to secure the camera.

5. Balancing Your Camera

The quick release plate features precision markings to assist in balancing your camera setup. Adjust the camera's position on the plate forward or backward until the setup is balanced, then tighten the quick release plate locking lever.
