1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of your OVO PAK70D Heavy Duty Central Vacuum System. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use, and retain it for future reference.

The OVO PAK70D is a powerful central vacuum system designed for large households, offering 700 Air Watts of suction power. It features a hybrid filtration system, allowing use with or without disposable bags, and includes a deluxe accessory kit for comprehensive cleaning.

2. Safety Information

General Safety Precautions

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not operate the vacuum with a damaged cord or plug. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
  • Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
  • Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
  • Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instructions.
  • Do not use without dust bag and/or filters in place.

Electrical Safety

Ensure the central vacuum unit is connected to a dedicated electrical circuit as specified in the installation guide. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance or service.

4. Setup and Installation

Mounting the Central Vacuum Unit

  1. Choose a suitable location for the central vacuum unit, typically in a garage, basement, or utility room. Ensure adequate space for maintenance and airflow.
  2. Mount the unit securely to a wall using appropriate hardware. Refer to the detailed installation guide for specific mounting instructions and recommended distances from walls and ceilings.
  3. Connect the main vacuum piping from your home's inlet system to the central vacuum unit. Ensure all connections are airtight.
  4. Connect the electrical power to the unit. This unit requires a 120V power supply.

Connecting the Hose to Inlets

The OVO central vacuum hose is designed to be compatible with most existing central vacuum inlets. Ensure your inlet meets the following criteria:

  • The inside diameter of the inlet must be 1 1/2 inches.
  • The inlet must have two pins inside for low-voltage connection.

5. Operating Instructions

Using the Low-Voltage Hose

  1. Insert the hose cuff firmly into any central vacuum inlet in your home. The unit will power on automatically or can be activated via the ON/OFF switch on the hose handle.
  2. The hose features a swivel handle to prevent kinking during use, allowing for easier maneuverability.
  3. Attach the telescopic wand and desired cleaning tool to the hose handle. The telescopic wand adjusts from 26.5 inches to 38 inches for comfortable reach.
  4. To turn off the vacuum, use the ON/OFF switch on the hose handle or remove the hose from the inlet.

6. Maintenance

Hybrid Filtration System

The OVO PAK70D features a hybrid filtration system, allowing you to choose between using disposable bags or the permanent washable filter.

Emptying the Canister / Replacing Bags

  • With Disposable Bags: When using disposable bags, replace the bag when it is full or suction power decreases significantly. Disposable bags are recommended for easier and cleaner disposal of debris.
  • Without Disposable Bags: If not using disposable bags, the 9.25-gallon (35-liter) canister should be emptied approximately once a year, depending on usage.
  • To access the canister, unlatch the clamps securing the bottom section of the unit. Carefully remove the canister and dispose of contents.

Cleaning the Permanent Filter

The permanent filter is machine washable. Periodically remove and clean the filter according to the instructions provided with the unit to maintain optimal airflow and filtration efficiency.

7. Troubleshooting
