3. Setup Instructions

3.1. Inflation

  1. Unroll the paddle board on a flat, clean surface, free from sharp objects.
  2. Locate the premium seamless valve on the board. Ensure the valve pin is in the UP position (closed for inflation). If it's down, press it to pop it up.
  3. Connect the airtight hose from the double-action hand pump to the board's valve by twisting it clockwise until secure.
  4. Begin pumping. The double-action pump inflates on both the up and down strokes. For easier inflation at higher pressures, you can switch to single-action mode (if available on your pump) once the board starts to firm up.
  5. Inflate the board to the recommended pressure of 12-15 PSI. Note: The pressure gauge on the pump may not register a reading until the board reaches approximately 5 PSI. Continue pumping until the desired pressure is achieved. Inflation typically takes 3-4 minutes.
  6. Once inflated, quickly disconnect the pump hose and ensure the valve cap is securely fastened to prevent air leakage.

3.2. Fin Attachment

The Zyerch SUP comes with one large removable fin and two fixed fins. The fixed fins are permanently attached. The large removable fin provides enhanced tracking and stability.

  1. Slide the large fin into the fin box located at the rear underside of the board.
  2. Secure the fin in place using the attached clip or pin mechanism. Ensure it clicks firmly into position.

3.3. Paddle Assembly

The collapsible paddle is designed for easy assembly and adjustability.

  1. Connect the three sections of the paddle by aligning the pins and holes and pushing them together until they click into place.
  2. Adjust the paddle length to your height. A common guideline is to extend your arm overhead; the paddle handle should reach your wrist. Secure the adjustable clamp firmly.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Safety First

  • Always wear a personal flotation device (PFD) when paddleboarding.
  • Attach the ankle leash to your ankle and the D-ring on the board. This keeps the board tethered to you if you fall off.
  • Check weather conditions and water currents before heading out. Avoid strong winds and currents.
  • Inform someone of your paddleboarding plans and expected return time.

4.2. Getting on the Board

  1. Start in shallow water. Place the board flat on the water.
  2. Kneel on the center of the board, just behind the handle. Your knees should be about shoulder-width apart.
  3. Once comfortable kneeling, place your paddle across the board in front of you.
  4. Slowly stand up one foot at a time, placing your feet where your knees were. Keep your feet parallel and shoulder-width apart, centered on the board.
  5. Maintain a slight bend in your knees and keep your core engaged for balance. Look towards the horizon, not down at your feet.

4.3. Paddling Techniques

  • Forward Stroke: Reach forward with the paddle, insert the blade fully into the water, and pull it back towards your feet. Keep your arms relatively straight and use your core muscles for power.
  • Turning: To turn right, paddle on the left side of the board. To turn left, paddle on the right side. For sharper turns, use a sweep stroke by paddling in a wide arc from front to back.
  • Braking: To slow down or stop, place the paddle blade in the water behind you and push forward.

5. Maintenance and Storage

5.1. Cleaning and Drying

After each use, especially in saltwater, rinse your paddle board thoroughly with fresh water. Use a mild soap if necessary to remove dirt or grime. Ensure the board is completely dry before deflating and storing to prevent mold and mildew growth.

5.2. Deflation and Packing

  1. Ensure the board is clean and dry.
  2. Open the valve cap and press the valve pin down to lock it in the OPEN position. Air will begin to escape.
  3. Once most of the air has escaped, begin rolling the board tightly from the nose (front) towards the tail (valve end). This will push out any remaining air.
  4. Once fully deflated and rolled, secure it with the provided strap or bungee cord.
  5. Place the deflated board and all accessories into the sturdy backpack for convenient transport and storage.

5.3. Repair Kit Usage

In case of minor punctures, use the included repair kit. Clean the area around the puncture, apply adhesive to the patch and the board, and firmly press the patch over the hole. Allow sufficient time for the adhesive to cure before re-inflating.
