2. Safety Information
Please read all safety instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker before installing, servicing, or cleaning the fan.
- Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician and in accordance with all local electrical codes and regulations.
- Do not install this fan in areas where it may be directly exposed to water spray or excessive humidity beyond typical bathroom conditions.
- Ensure proper grounding to prevent electric shock.
- Keep hands and foreign objects away from the fan blades during operation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Do not use the fan if the power cord or plug is damaged.

4. Setup and Installation
This fan is designed for wall mounting. Ensure the installation location is suitable for proper ventilation and electrical connection.
- Prepare the Installation Area: Choose a suitable wall location in your bathroom, toilet, or kitchen. Ensure there is sufficient space for the fan (150 x 150 mm) and access for ducting (Ø 100 mm).
- Disconnect Power: Turn off the power supply to the installation area at the main circuit breaker. Verify that the power is off using a voltage tester.
- Mark Mounting Holes: Hold the fan unit against the wall at the desired installation point. Use a pencil to mark the four mounting screw locations.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations using an appropriate drill bit for the provided wall anchors. Insert the wall anchors flush with the wall surface.
- Electrical Connection: Route the electrical cable to the fan's connection terminal. Connect the live, neutral, and ground wires according to the wiring diagram provided inside the fan's terminal box. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated. This fan operates on 230 Volts (AC).
- Mount the Fan: Align the fan with the drilled holes and secure it to the wall using the provided mounting screws. Do not overtighten.
- Connect Ducting: Connect the appropriate ducting (Ø 100 mm) to the fan's exhaust port. Ensure a tight and sealed connection to prevent air leakage. The fan includes a backdraft damper to prevent air from flowing back into the room when the fan is off.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power at the circuit breaker.

5. Operating Instructions
The EQUATION Slim Bathroom Fan is designed for simple operation.
- Turning On/Off: The fan is activated and deactivated via your room's light switch or a dedicated separate switch. When the switch is turned on, the fan will begin to operate, extracting air from the room. When the switch is turned off, the fan will stop.
- Purpose: The fan provides intermittent air renewal, effectively removing stale air, humidity, and odors from bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your EQUATION Slim Bathroom Fan.
- Cleaning the Exterior: Periodically wipe the exterior surface of the fan with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Cleaning the Grille: If dust accumulates on the grille, gently remove it with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner attachment. For deeper cleaning, you may carefully remove the front grille (refer to installation steps in reverse if necessary) and wash it with mild soap and water. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
- Motor Maintenance: The fan is equipped with a long-life ball bearing motor, which typically requires no lubrication or specific maintenance. Do not attempt to lubricate the motor.
- Ducting Inspection: Occasionally inspect the ducting for any blockages or damage that might impede airflow.
- Power Disconnection: Always disconnect power to the fan at the circuit breaker before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your fan, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not turn on. | No power supply. Loose wiring connection. Faulty switch. |
Check circuit breaker. Ensure power is restored. Verify wiring connections (consult a qualified electrician). Test or replace the switch. |
| Low airflow or poor ventilation. | Blocked grille or ducting. Fan blades are dirty. Backdraft damper stuck. |
Clean the grille and check ducting for obstructions. Clean fan blades (with power disconnected). Inspect backdraft damper for free movement. |
| Unusual noise during operation. | Loose mounting screws. Obstruction in fan blades. Worn motor bearings (less likely due to long-life design). |
Tighten mounting screws. Disconnect power and check for foreign objects in the fan. If noise persists, contact customer support. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support or a qualified electrician.
