4.5 Environmental Sensors and Digital Compass
On-board environmental sensors and a digital compass provide crucial data for accurate ballistic calculations, including temperature, pressure, and humidity, as well as directional information.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To clean the lenses, use the provided lens cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning fluid designed for optics can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens. Wipe gently in a circular motion.
Clean the exterior of the binoculars with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
5.2 Storage
Store the binoculars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the lens caps are in place to protect the optics from dust and scratches. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
5.3 Waterproofing
The KILO10K-ABS has an IPX-4 waterproof rating, meaning it is resistant to splashing water from any direction. While it can withstand light rain, it is not designed for submersion. Ensure all caps and covers are securely closed to maintain water resistance.
6. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on:
Check battery installation and ensure the CR2 battery is fresh and correctly oriented. - Inaccurate range readings:
Ensure the target is within the specified range capabilities. Verify that the lenses are clean and free from obstructions. Environmental factors like heavy fog or rain can affect accuracy; try using Fog Mode if applicable. - Display is dim or unclear:
Adjust the diopter for your eyesight. Check battery level. The display brightness may automatically adjust to ambient light conditions. - Cannot connect to BDX App:
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the binoculars and your smart device. Restart both devices and try pairing again. Make sure the BDX App is updated to the latest version.
