1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your ORIA WA54B Digital Thermometer Hygrometer. This device is designed to monitor indoor temperature and humidity, along with readings from up to three remote wireless sensors for outdoor or other designated areas.
2. Safety Information
- Do not expose the main unit or remote sensors to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- The remote transmitter is not waterproof. To ensure longevity and accurate readings, place it in a sheltered location outdoors, such as under an eaves or in a covered area, to protect it from rain and direct moisture.
- Use only the specified battery type (AAA) and ensure correct polarity during installation.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.
3. Package Contents
- 1 x Main Display Unit
- 3 x Wireless Remote Sensors
- 1 x User Manual
4. Setup
- Battery Installation (Sensors First): Open the battery compartment on each of the three remote sensors. Insert 2 AAA batteries into each sensor, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartments securely.
- Battery Installation (Main Unit): Open the battery compartment on the main display unit. Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment securely. The main unit will power on and begin searching for sensor signals.
- Sensor Pairing: The main unit will automatically attempt to connect with the remote sensors. Ensure all sensors are within range (up to 100m/328ft in open air). The corresponding channel numbers (1, 2, 3) on the main unit's display will show readings once connected. If a sensor does not connect, press the 'CHANNEL' button on the main unit to cycle through channels or press the 'RESET' button on the sensor.
- Placement:
- Main Unit: Place the main unit on a flat surface using its built-in stand or mount it on a wall using the hang hole.
- Remote Sensors: Position sensors in desired locations. For outdoor use, select a sheltered spot to protect the sensor from direct rain and sunlight. Avoid placing sensors near heat sources or in areas with extreme temperature fluctuations for optimal accuracy.

5. Operating Instructions
- Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F): A switch located on the back of the main unit allows you to toggle between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature displays.
- Backlight: Press the 'LIGHT' button on the top of the main unit to activate the backlight for improved visibility in low-light conditions. The backlight will automatically turn off after 5 seconds of inactivity.
- MIN/MAX Records: Press the 'MIN/MAX' button to view the minimum and maximum temperature and humidity readings recorded over a 24-hour period for both the indoor unit and each remote sensor. Press again to return to current readings.
- Channel Cycling: The 'CHANNEL' button allows you to manually cycle through the display of individual remote sensor readings if you wish to view them one by one, or to ensure all three are displayed simultaneously.
- Comfort Level Indicator: The main unit displays facial icons to indicate humidity comfort levels:
- Wet: Humidity above 65%
- COM (Comfortable): Humidity between 45% and 65%
- DRY: Humidity below 45%
- Data Update: Temperature and humidity data from the sensors update approximately every 60 seconds.

6. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: When a low battery icon appears on the display for either the main unit or a specific sensor, replace the batteries promptly. Refer to the 'Setup' section for battery installation instructions.
- Cleaning: Wipe the device and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the units in water.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Sensor Readings:
- Ensure batteries are correctly installed in both the main unit and sensors.
- Verify that sensors are within the effective wireless range (100m/328ft in open air) and not obstructed by thick walls or metal objects.
- Press the 'CHANNEL' button on the main unit to re-scan for sensors.
- Try resetting the sensor by removing and reinserting its batteries.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure sensors are not placed in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in areas with poor air circulation.
- Allow the units to stabilize for at least 30 minutes after initial setup or relocation.
- Backlight Not Working: Check the main unit's batteries. Replace if low.
