4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DDJ-REV1 controller, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the surface of the controller. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive dust.
- Cable Management: Avoid bending or crimping cables excessively. Disconnect cables by pulling the plug, not the cable itself.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DDJ-REV1, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power/Not Recognized: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and your computer. Try a different USB port or cable. Restart your computer and Serato DJ Lite.
- No Audio Output: Check all audio cable connections (MASTER OUT to speakers, headphones). Verify that the volume levels on the controller, Serato DJ Lite, and your speakers are not muted or set too low. Ensure the correct audio device is selected in your computer's sound settings and Serato DJ Lite preferences.
- Software Lag/Performance Issues: Close other applications running on your computer. Ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Serato DJ Lite. Update your computer's operating system and Serato DJ Lite to the latest versions.
- Jog Wheel or Pad Unresponsive: Ensure Serato DJ Lite is running and the controller is properly connected. Restart the software and controller.
