Smartbitt 3000 VA Voltage Regulator User Manual

Model: SBAVRC3000PRO

Brand: Smartbitt

1. Product Overview

The Smartbitt 3000 VA Voltage Regulator (Model: SBAVRC3000PRO) is designed to protect your electronic devices from voltage fluctuations, surges, and spikes. It provides a stable power supply, ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of connected equipment. This regulator is suitable for a variety of applications, from sensitive office electronics to household appliances and electric motors.

Its robust design and advanced features make it an essential component for maintaining power quality in your home or office environment.

2. Safety Information

  • Read all instructions before operating the device.
  • Do not open the casing of the voltage regulator. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
  • Ensure the regulator is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
  • Do not overload the regulator beyond its specified capacity (3000 VA / 3000 W).
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • If the device emits smoke, unusual odors, or makes strange noises, immediately disconnect it from the power outlet and contact customer support.
  • Use only with standard NEMA 5-15P wall outlets.

3. Product Features

  • Excellent Efficiency: Electronic voltage regulator with high performance.
  • Surge Suppression: Integrated surge suppressor with 312J protection.
  • Multiple Outlets: Features 4 regulated and surge-protected NEMA 5-15R outlets.
  • LED Status Indicators: Clear LED indicators for operational status, input voltage, and output voltage.
  • Wide Application: Ideal for refrigerators, AC motor applications (variable motor equipment), laser printers, dryers, and washing machines up to 700W.
  • Connection Type: NEMA 5-15P input plug.
  • Power Capacity: 3000 W.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack the Regulator: Carefully remove the voltage regulator from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
  2. Choose a Location: Place the regulator on a flat, stable surface in a well-ventilated area. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for air circulation. Avoid placing it near heat sources, direct sunlight, or in damp environments.
  3. Connect to Power: Plug the regulator's NEMA 5-15P power cord directly into a standard, grounded wall outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips to connect the regulator to the wall.
  4. Connect Devices: Plug your electronic devices into the NEMA 5-15R outlets on the back of the regulator. Ensure the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed 3000 VA / 3000 W.
  5. Power On: Flip the main power switch on the regulator to the 'ON' position. The LED indicators will illuminate, showing the input and output voltage.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the regulator is set up and connected, its operation is largely automatic. It continuously monitors the input voltage and adjusts the output to maintain a stable level for your connected devices.

5.1 Power On/Off

Use the red rocker switch labeled 'POWER' on the front panel to turn the unit ON or OFF. When turned ON, the digital displays will light up, showing the input and output voltage readings.

5.2 LED Indicators and Digital Displays

The front panel features two digital displays and a set of LED indicators:

  • Input Voltage Display: Shows the current voltage coming from the wall outlet.
  • Output Voltage Display: Shows the regulated voltage being supplied to your devices.
  • Delay/Undelay Button: This button controls the delay function. When activated (often indicated by an LED), the regulator will introduce a short delay (e.g., 6 seconds) before supplying power to the outlets after a power interruption or startup. This protects certain devices (like refrigerators) from rapid power cycling. Press the button to toggle this feature.
  • Status LEDs: These typically indicate the operational status, such as:
    • Normal/Working: Green LED, indicating stable operation.
    • Overload: Red LED, indicating that connected devices are drawing too much power.
    • Fault/Abnormal: Yellow or Red LED, indicating a problem with the input voltage or the unit itself.

Monitor these indicators to ensure proper functioning and to identify any potential issues.

6. Maintenance

The Smartbitt Voltage Regulator requires minimal maintenance to ensure its longevity and performance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols. Ensure the unit is turned off and unplugged before cleaning.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings on the sides and back of the unit are not blocked. Proper airflow is crucial to prevent overheating.
  • Avoid Overloading: Always ensure the total power consumption of connected devices does not exceed the regulator's maximum capacity. Overloading can lead to premature failure and may trip the circuit breaker.
  • Cable Management: Keep power cords and connected device cables tidy and untangled to prevent damage and ensure proper airflow.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No power to regulator or connected devices.Regulator is off; Wall outlet has no power; Circuit breaker tripped; Regulator internal fault.Ensure power switch is ON. Check wall outlet with another device. Reset house circuit breaker. If problem persists, contact support.
Overload LED is lit.Total power consumption of connected devices exceeds 3000 VA.Disconnect some devices to reduce the load. Ensure total load is within specifications.
Output voltage is unstable or incorrect.Extreme input voltage fluctuations; Internal malfunction. The regulator is designed to handle fluctuations. If it cannot stabilize, the input voltage might be outside its operating range. If problem persists, contact support.
Unit makes unusual noises or smells.Internal component failure; Overheating.Immediately unplug the unit. Do not attempt to use it. Contact customer support.
