1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing CLOUDY BAY Smart WiFi LED Recessed Lights. This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of your new lighting system. These 8-inch RGBCW color-changing recessed lights offer adjustable color temperature (2700K-6500K), 1-100% dimming, and 16+ million colors, all controllable via the CloudyBay App, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home Assistant.

Follow these steps to install your CLOUDY BAY Smart WiFi LED Recessed Lights:

1. Prepare the Installation Area: Turn off power at the circuit breaker. Use the provided cutting template to mark and cut an 8-1/4 inch (209mm) hole in the ceiling.
2. Connect Wiring: Open the junction box. Connect the household electrical wires (live, neutral, ground) to the quick connectors inside the junction box. Ensure all connections are secure.
3. Secure Junction Box: Place the junction box through the cut-out hole into the ceiling.
4. Connect Light Fixture: Connect the cable from the recessed light fixture to the junction box.
5. Install Light Fixture: Push the spring clips on the sides of the light fixture upwards and insert the fixture into the ceiling hole. The clips will hold the light securely in place.
6. Restore Power: Turn on power at the circuit breaker.

Important Note: These lights are not compatible with remodel or new construction housing with 6" to 6-5/8" holes. Please ensure your ceiling cut-out matches the specified 8-1/4 inch diameter.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. App Control (CloudyBay App)

Download the CloudyBay App from your device's App Store. Once installed, follow the in-app instructions to pair your lights. The app allows you to:

• Accurately set color temperature from 2700K (warm white) to 6500K (cool white).
• Adjust brightness from 1% to 100%.
• Select from over 16 million colors.
• Create and customize up to 8 lighting scenarios (e.g., reading, working, sleeping, party).
• Sync lights to music.
• Set schedules and timers for automatic on/off.
• Control lights remotely from anywhere with an internet connection.

6.2. Voice Control (Amazon Alexa & Google Home Assistant)

Your CLOUDY BAY Smart WiFi LED Recessed Lights are compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home Assistant for hands-free control. Ensure your lights are paired with the CloudyBay App first, then link the CloudyBay skill/service in your Alexa or Google Home app.

Example Voice Commands:

• "Alexa, turn on the kitchen lights."
• "Hey Google, dim the living room lights to 50%."
• "Alexa, set the bedroom light to blue."
• "Hey Google, change the color temperature to warm white."

6.3. Grouping Lights

You can group multiple lights together to control them simultaneously. This is useful for controlling lights in a specific room or area.

To create a group in the CloudyBay App:

1. Open the CloudyBay App.
2. Click the device you want to include in a group.
3. Click the icon on the top right corner.
4. Select Create Group.
5. Select the devices you want to include, and then click Save.
6. Use the preset group names, or create your own, and then select Save.

Similar grouping functions are available within the Amazon Alexa and Google Home apps. Refer to Image 6.4 for visual guidance.

6.4. Custom Scenarios and Music Sync

The CloudyBay App allows you to customize up to 8 scenarios to match your mood or activity, such as 'Reading', 'Leisure', 'Work', or 'Gorgeous'. Additionally, the music sync feature enables the lights to change colors and intensity in rhythm with your music, enhancing your entertainment experience.

7. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your recessed lights:

• Cleaning: Disconnect power before cleaning. Wipe the light fixture with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Inspection: Periodically check for any loose connections or damage to the fixture.
• Software Updates: Keep the CloudyBay App updated to the latest version to access new features and improvements.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your CLOUDY BAY Smart WiFi LED Recessed Lights, consider the following:

• Light Not Turning On: Check the circuit breaker to ensure power is supplied. Verify all wiring connections are secure.
• Connectivity Issues: Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz (5GHz is not supported). Restart your router and the light fixture. Make sure your smartphone is connected to the same 2.4GHz WiFi network during initial setup.
• App Control Not Responding: Check your internet connection. Ensure the CloudyBay App is updated. Try force-closing and reopening the app.
• Voice Control Not Working: Confirm your Alexa/Google Home device is connected to the internet and linked to the CloudyBay skill/service. Ensure the light names used in voice commands match those in the app.
• Lights Not Dimming/Changing Color: Verify that you are using the app or voice control for dimming and color changes. These lights are not compatible with physical dimmers.
