Important Safety Instructions
WARNING: Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries are volatile. Failure to follow these instructions can result in fire, personal injury, and property damage.
- Always charge LiPo batteries on a fire-resistant surface and away from flammable materials.
- Never charge LiPo batteries unattended.
- Use only a LiPo compatible charger with a balance function. Ensure the charger settings match the battery's cell count and voltage.
- Do not overcharge or over-discharge the battery. The voltage per cell should not exceed 4.2V (fully charged) or drop below 3.0V (fully discharged).
- Inspect the battery for damage (swelling, punctures, bent connectors) before each use. Do not use a damaged battery.
- Store LiPo batteries in a cool, dry place, ideally in a LiPo-safe bag or container, at a storage voltage of approximately 3.8V per cell.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children and pets.
- In case of fire, use a LiPo-specific fire extinguisher or sand. Do not use water.
Product Overview
The Tattu 10000 mAh 11.1 V 15C 3S1P Lipo Battery Pack (Model TAA10K3S15E5) is a high-capacity, rechargeable lithium polymer battery designed for various applications, including radio-controlled models. This battery features a 3-cell configuration (3S1P), providing a nominal voltage of 11.1 Volts and a capacity of 10000 milliampere-hours (mAh). The 15C discharge rate indicates its ability to deliver high current for demanding applications.
Setup
Initial Charging
- Connect the battery's main discharge connector to your LiPo charger's output.
- Connect the battery's balance lead to the charger's balance port.
- Set your LiPo charger to "LiPo Balance Charge" mode.
- Configure the charger for a 3S (11.1V) LiPo battery.
- Set the charging current. For a 10000 mAh battery, a 1C charge rate is 10 Amps. A slower charge rate (e.g., 0.5C or 5 Amps) can extend battery life.
- Initiate the charging process and monitor the battery and charger closely.
- The battery is fully charged when each cell reaches 4.2V.
Connecting to Device
Ensure your device (e.g., RC model) is powered off before connecting the battery. Connect the battery's main discharge connector to the corresponding connector on your device. Verify a secure connection.
Operating
Usage Guidelines
- Always monitor the battery's voltage during use. Do not allow any cell to drop below 3.0V. Exceeding this limit can permanently damage the battery.
- Avoid continuous high current draw that exceeds the battery's specified C-rating.
- If the battery becomes excessively hot during use, discontinue operation immediately and allow it to cool down before further handling.
- After use, allow the battery to cool down to ambient temperature before recharging.
Maintenance
Storage
For long-term storage (more than a few days), discharge or charge the battery to its storage voltage (approximately 3.8V per cell). Store in a cool, dry place, ideally in a LiPo-safe bag or container, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Regular Inspection
Periodically inspect the battery for any signs of damage, such as swelling, punctures, or frayed wires. If any damage is observed, discontinue use and dispose of the battery safely.
Troubleshooting
- Battery Not Charging:
- Ensure all connections (main and balance leads) are secure.
- Verify charger settings match the battery type (3S LiPo) and capacity.
- Check for any visible damage to the battery or charger.
- Reduced Run Time/Power:
- The battery may be aging or damaged.
- Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.
- Check for proper balance during charging.
- Battery Swelling:
Immediately discontinue use. Swelling indicates internal damage and a high risk of fire. Safely dispose of the battery according to local regulations.
