5. Getting Started: Battery & Mode Switching

The CS600 sensor operates in two distinct modes: Cadence Mode and Speed Mode. The mode is determined by the color of the indicator light when the battery is reinstalled.

5.1. Battery Installation and Mode Selection

  1. Open the battery cover by twisting it counter-clockwise.
  2. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards.
  3. To switch modes, remove the battery and reinsert it. The sensor will flash either RED or GREEN.
    • If the indicator flashes RED, the sensor is in Cadence Mode.
    • If the indicator flashes GREEN, the sensor is in Speed Mode.
  4. Close the battery cover by twisting it clockwise until it is securely sealed.

Note: After switching modes, you may need to reconnect the device to your bike computer or app to display the correct data.

6. Installation on Bicycle

The installation method differs based on whether you intend to use the sensor for cadence or speed measurement.

6.1. Cadence Mode Installation

In Cadence Mode, the sensor measures your pedaling revolutions per minute (RPM).

  1. Ensure the sensor is set to Cadence Mode (RED indicator flash).
  2. Attach the sensor to the left inner crank arm of your bicycle using the small rubber ring.
  3. Position the sensor securely so it does not interfere with pedaling or other bike components.

6.2. Speed Mode Installation

In Speed Mode, the sensor measures your bicycle's speed.

  1. Ensure the sensor is set to Speed Mode (GREEN indicator flash).
  2. Attach the sensor to the front wheel hub of your bicycle using the large rubber ring.
  3. Ensure the sensor is firmly attached and does not obstruct wheel rotation.

7. Connectivity & Operation

The CS600 sensor supports both ANT+ and Bluetooth protocols, allowing connection to a wide range of devices.

7.1. Pairing with Devices

  1. Ensure the CS600 sensor is awake. You can wake it by rotating the crank arm (for cadence) or the wheel (for speed) a few times. The indicator light will flash.
  2. On your bike computer, sport watch, or smartphone app, navigate to the sensor pairing or add device menu.
  3. Select to search for new sensors. The CS600 should appear in the list of available devices (e.g., as "GEOID CS600" or similar).
  4. Select the sensor to pair. Once connected, the indicator light on the sensor may change or stop flashing, depending on the mode and connection status.

7.2. Dual Protocol Functionality

The CS600 can transmit data via both ANT+ and Bluetooth simultaneously, allowing you to connect to multiple devices at once (e.g., a bike computer via ANT+ and a smartphone app via Bluetooth).

8.1. Battery Replacement

When the sensor's performance degrades or it fails to connect, the CR2032 battery may need replacement. Follow the steps in Section 5.1 to replace the battery.

8.2. Cleaning and Care

  • Wipe the sensor with a damp cloth after use, especially if exposed to sweat, dirt, or rain.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the sensor's casing or seals.
  • Ensure the battery cover is always securely closed to maintain the IP66 waterproof rating.
