Setup

1. Hard Drive Installation

1. Gently slide off the front panel of the enclosure to reveal the drive bays.
2. Insert your 2.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD into the drive bay. Ensure the SATA connector aligns correctly.

3. Secure the hard drive using the provided screws and screwdriver.
4. Repeat for the second drive if applicable.
5. Slide the front panel back into place until it clicks securely.

2. Connecting to Power and Computer

1. Connect the 5V/2A power adapter to the DC input port on the back of the enclosure.
2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
3. Connect one end of the USB 3.0 cable to the Type-B port on the enclosure and the other end to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer.

4. The enclosure will power on automatically. The LED indicators on the front will show the status of the drives.

Operating Instructions

1. RAID Mode Configuration

The Yottamaster DR2RU3-25 supports multiple RAID modes (PM, RAID 0, RAID 1, SPAN) which can be configured using the DIP switches on the rear panel. Always back up your data before changing RAID modes, as this will erase all data on the drives.

• PM (Port Multiplier): Each drive is recognized as an independent disk.
  • Switch 1: ON, Switch 2: ON

• RAID 1 (Mirroring): Creates an exact copy of data on both drives for data redundancy. Capacity is limited to the smallest drive.
  • Switch 1: ON, Switch 2: OFF
• SPAN (JBOD/Concatenation): Combines both drives into a single large volume without striping or mirroring. Data is written sequentially.
  • Switch 1: OFF, Switch 2: OFF

After setting the DIP switches, power cycle the enclosure (unplug and replug the power adapter) for the new RAID configuration to take effect. You may need to initialize and format the new volume in your operating system's Disk Management utility (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac OS).

2. Data Transfer

3. Auto-Sleep Function

To conserve energy and extend the lifespan of your hard drives, the enclosure features an automatic sleep mode. If there is no data activity for 10 minutes, the enclosure will enter sleep mode. It will automatically wake up when data access is detected.
