1. Product Overview

The ABASK Dash Cam J05 is a high-definition dual-lens dash camera designed to record both the road ahead and the vehicle's interior simultaneously. It features 1080P+1080P resolution, a wide 3100 field of view, enhanced night vision, and essential safety functions like G-Sensor, Parking Monitor, and Loop Recording. A 32GB SD card is included for immediate use.

3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your ABASK Dash Cam J05 for the first time:

3.1. Inserting the Micro SD Card

1. Ensure the dash cam is powered off.
2. Locate the Micro SD card slot on the side of the dash cam.
3. Insert the 32GB Micro SD card into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the gold contacts are facing the correct direction (usually towards the back of the camera).

3.2. Initial Settings (Language, Date/Time, Format SD Card)

1. Power on the dash cam by connecting it to a power source.
2. Press the MENU button to access the settings.
3. Navigate through the menu using the arrow buttons to find "Language" and select your preferred language.
4. Find "Date/Time" and set the correct date and time.
5. Locate the "Format" option in the settings menu. Select it and confirm to format the Micro SD card. This prepares the card for recording and ensures optimal performance.

3.3. Mounting the Dash Cam

1. Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the dash cam. Ensure it is free of dust and grease for optimal suction.
2. Attach the dash cam to the suction cup mount.
3. Press the suction cup firmly against the cleaned windshield and engage the locking lever to secure it.
4. Adjust the camera angle to ensure both the front and interior lenses have a clear, unobstructed view.

3.4. Routing the Power Cable

1. Connect the mini USB cable to the dash cam.
2. Carefully route the power cable along the edge of your windshield, down the A-pillar, and under the dashboard towards your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Use the provided crowbar and cable clamps to tuck the cable neatly and securely.
3. Plug the cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle's 12V power outlet.

The dash cam is designed to automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts and power off when the vehicle is turned off.

4. Operating the Dash Cam

4.1. Basic Operation

• Power On/Off: The camera automatically turns on/off with the vehicle's ignition. You can also manually power it on/off by long-pressing the power button.
• Recording: Once powered on, the dash cam automatically starts loop recording. A red dot or indicator on the screen confirms recording is active.
• Switching Modes: Long press the MENU button to switch between Video Recording, Still Camera, and Playback modes.

4.2. Advanced Features

• G-Sensor (Emergency Lock): The built-in G-sensor detects sudden shakes or collisions. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video segment to prevent it from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical footage is preserved.
• Loop Recording: Videos are recorded in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5-minute segments). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten. Locked files are protected.
• Parking Monitor: When enabled (and with an optional hardwire kit), the dash cam will automatically turn on and record if it detects an impact while the vehicle is parked. This provides 24/7 surveillance.
• Motion Detection: If enabled, the camera will start recording when it detects movement in its field of view, useful for monitoring while parked (short-term).

4.3. Video Playback

• In Playback mode, use the arrow buttons to navigate through recorded videos.
• Press the OK button to play or pause a selected video.
• To transfer videos to a computer, connect the dash cam via the mini USB cable or insert the Micro SD card directly into a card reader.
