- Weight Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 150 lbs (68 kg) for the entire unit. Each drawer can hold up to 88 lbs (40 kg). Overloading can cause instability and damage.
- Stable Placement: Place the dresser on a level and stable surface.
- Children Safety: Do not allow children to climb on or play with the dresser. Keep small parts away from children during assembly.
- Moving the Unit: Use the casters for mobility. Ensure the path is clear and level when moving. Lock the front casters when the dresser is in its desired position to prevent accidental movement.
2. Package Contents

3. Assembly Instructions (Setup)
Assembly typically requires two people. Follow the step-by-step pictorial instructions provided in the original packaging. The general sequence involves:
- Unpack and Organize: Lay out all components on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratches. Group similar hardware.
- Assemble the Main Frame: Connect the side panels to the bottom and top panels using the provided hardware.
- Install Casters: Attach the 360-degree swivel casters to the bottom panel. Ensure the two lockable casters are positioned at the front for easy access.
- Assemble Drawers: Construct each of the five drawers. Attach the drawer slides to the drawer sides and the corresponding slides to the dresser frame.
- Install Cabinet Door: Attach the soft-close hinges to the top cabinet door and then to the dresser frame. Adjust hinges for proper alignment.
- Attach Back Panel: Secure the back panel to the main frame.
- Install Anti-Tipping Device: Securely attach the anti-tipping device to the top rear of the dresser and to a wall stud, following the specific instructions and diagrams.
4. Operating Instructions
The DEVAISE 5-Drawer Wood Dresser is designed for convenient storage and mobility.
- Drawers: Gently pull the drawers open using the integrated handle cutouts. Push them back in until fully closed. Avoid slamming drawers to ensure longevity of the slides.
- Top Cabinet: Open the top cabinet door by pulling the integrated handle. The soft-close hinges will prevent the door from slamming shut.
- Mobility: To move the dresser, unlock the front casters by flipping their levers. Once in the desired position, lock the casters to secure the unit.
5. Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your dresser.
- Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a dry cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth and immediately dry with a clean, soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Spills: Clean up spills immediately to prevent staining or damage to the wood finish.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they are tight. Retighten if necessary.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading or discoloration.

- Drawers do not close smoothly:
- Check if the drawer slides are correctly aligned and installed.
- Ensure all screws on the drawer slides and frame are tightened.
- Verify that the drawer is not overloaded or obstructed.
- Dresser feels unstable:

- Ensure all assembly hardware is fully tightened.
- Verify the anti-tipping device is correctly installed and secured to the wall.
- Lock the front casters to prevent unwanted movement.
- Cabinet door is misaligned:
- Adjust the soft-close hinges. Most hinges allow for minor adjustments to align the door. Refer to the hinge manufacturer's instructions if needed.
