- Attach Backboard and Rim: Mount the 52-inch shatterproof backboard and the Slam-It® rim to the upper pole section. Ensure the net is properly attached to the rim.

- Inspect Hardware: Annually, inspect all nuts, bolts, and fasteners for tightness. Tighten any loose hardware.
- Clean Components: Clean the backboard, pole, and base with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage surfaces.
- Rust Prevention: The steel pole has a powder-coated, weather-resistant finish. However, inspect for any scratches or chips in the coating and touch up with rust-inhibiting paint if needed to prevent corrosion.
- Net Replacement: Replace the all-weather nylon net if it becomes worn or damaged.
- Winter Storage: In areas with freezing temperatures, it is recommended to empty the base of water to prevent cracking due to ice expansion. Alternatively, use sand or add non-toxic antifreeze to the water. Store the system indoors if possible, or secure it to prevent damage from severe weather.
