4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your REDTIGER T700 dash cam:

  1. Prepare the Micro SD Card: Insert the provided 32GB Micro SD card into the dash cam. It is recommended to format the card within the dash cam settings before first use and periodically thereafter to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Mount the Mirror Dash Cam: Secure the T700 mirror dash cam over your vehicle's existing rearview mirror using the included rubber straps. Ensure it is firmly attached and does not obstruct your view.
  3. Install the Rear Camera:
    • Determine the optimal mounting location for the rear camera. For a wider field of view, external mounting (e.g., above the license plate) is recommended. Internal mounting on the rear window is also possible but may have a more restricted view.
    • Connect the lengthy rear camera cable to the rear camera.
    • Route the rear camera cable from the rear of the vehicle to the main mirror dash cam unit. Carefully tuck the cable under the headliner and along the A-pillar to conceal it and prevent interference with driving.
    • Connect the rear camera cable to the AV-IN port on the mirror dash cam.
  4. Install the GPS Module: Place the GPS antenna on your dashboard, ideally in a location with a clear view of the sky, to ensure accurate signal reception. Connect the GPS module cable to the GPS interface on the mirror dash cam.
  5. Connect Power: Connect the power cable to the mirror dash cam and plug the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter outlet. Start your vehicle to power on the dash cam.
  6. Adjust Camera Angles: Once powered on, adjust the front camera lens on the mirror unit to capture the desired view. The rear camera also supports 180° flip if needed for inverted mounting.

5. Operating Instructions

The REDTIGER T700 features an intuitive touch screen for easy control:

  • Power On/Off: The device will automatically power on when the vehicle starts and power off when the vehicle is turned off.
  • Touch Screen Operation: Use the 11-inch touch screen to navigate menus, adjust settings, and view footage.
  • View Angle Adjustment: Swipe the screen up or down to adjust the displayed view angle of the front or rear camera.
  • Switching Views: Tap the screen to switch between front view, rear view, or split-screen display.
  • Reversing Assistance: When the vehicle is in reverse gear, the screen will automatically display the rear camera view with adjustable parking aid lines. You can manually adjust these lines on the screen to suit your vehicle.
  • GPS Playback: The included GPS module records location and speed data. To review this information, transfer the recorded video files to a computer and use the dedicated REDTIGER GPS Player software for Windows or Mac.
  • Loop Recording: Videos are recorded in segments (e.g., 3-minute segments). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked video files will be automatically overwritten to continue recording.
  • G-Sensor (Emergency Recording): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor will detect the event and automatically lock the current video file, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.
  • Parking Monitor: This feature provides surveillance when your vehicle is parked. There are two modes: continuous recording and emergency recording. A dedicated hardwire kit (ASIN: B0CNPHCJZB) is required for 24-hour parking monitoring.

6. Maintenance

  • Memory Card Care: Regularly format the Micro SD card (e.g., monthly) to prevent issues caused by accumulated locked video files and ensure smooth recording.
  • Use Original Accessories: Always use the original accessories provided with your REDTIGER T700 to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Cleaning: Gently clean the camera lenses and screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your REDTIGER T700, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Dash Cam Not Powering On: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the car charger, and that the car charger is properly inserted into the vehicle's cigarette lighter. Check if the vehicle's power outlet is functional.
  • Recording Issues: If the dash cam is not recording or showing errors, format the Micro SD card. If the issue persists, try a different high-speed (Class 10 or U3) Micro SD card. Ensure loop recording is enabled in settings.
  • Poor Video Quality: Ensure both front and rear camera lenses are clean and free from obstructions. Check that the resolution settings are set to 4K (front) and 1080P (rear).
  • GPS Signal Not Found: Ensure the GPS module is placed in a location with a clear view of the sky and is securely connected to the dash cam. Allow a few minutes for the GPS to acquire a signal after powering on.
  • Rear Camera Not Displaying: Verify that the rear camera cable is securely connected to both the rear camera and the AV-IN port on the mirror dash cam.
  • Screen Glare: In certain lighting conditions (e.g., direct sunlight), screen glare may occur. Adjust the screen brightness or angle if possible.
