Introduction and Overview

The Doro 5860 is a GSM 4G mobile phone designed for ease of use, particularly for seniors. Setup Guide

1. Inserting the SIM Card and Battery

Before using your Doro 5860, you need to insert a SIM card and the battery.

  1. Carefully remove the back cover of the phone.
  2. Insert your SIM card into the designated slot. Ensure it is correctly oriented as indicated by the diagram near the slot.
  3. Insert the Li-ion 1000 mAh battery, aligning the contacts.
  4. Replace the back cover until it clicks securely into place.

2. Initial Charging

It is recommended to fully charge the phone before first use.

  1. Connect the EU mains charger to the charging cradle.
  2. Place the Doro 5860 phone into the charging cradle. Ensure it is seated correctly and the charging indicator appears on the screen.
  3. Allow the phone to charge until the battery icon shows full.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press and hold the red End Call/Power button until the screen lights up.
  • To power off: Press and hold the red End Call/Power button, then confirm "Power off" on the screen.

2. Making and Receiving Calls

  • Making a Call: Enter the phone number using the large numeric keypad, then press the green Call button.
  • Receiving a Call: Press the green Call button when the phone rings.
  • Ending a Call: Press the red End Call button.

3. Using the Assistance Button

The dedicated assistance button is located on the back of the phone.

  • In an emergency, press and hold the assistance button for a few seconds.
  • The phone will automatically dial pre-programmed emergency contacts in sequence and send an SMS alert.

4. Camera Functionality

The Doro 5860 features a 2 MP camera with flash.

  • Access the camera from the main menu.
  • Use the navigation keys to frame your shot.
  • Press the OK button to capture a photo or start/stop video recording.
