6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

When the alarm unit's performance degrades or the indicator light flashes, it may be time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps in Section 3.1 to replace the 3 AA batteries.

6.2 Cleaning

To ensure optimal performance, periodically clean the detection window with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the unit.

7. Troubleshooting

  • False Alarms: The PIR technology is designed to detect human movement. However, strong air currents, direct sunlight, or rapid temperature changes can sometimes trigger false alarms. Ensure the alarm is placed away from direct heat sources, vents, or windows where significant environmental changes occur. The PIR technology may not work effectively through walls, windows, or glass doors.
  • Remote Control Not Responding: Ensure the remote control's battery is not depleted. Re-pair the remote control with the alarm unit following the instructions in Section 4.3.
  • Limited Detection/Remote Range: Obstructions like thick walls or metal objects can reduce the effective range. Ensure clear line of sight for optimal performance. The stated 40ft detection range is optimal, with better performance typically within 10-26ft. The remote control has a range of up to 328ft in open areas.
  • No Wi-Fi Support: Please note that this device does not support Wi-Fi connectivity.
