Setup

1. Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Ensure the walkie talkie is powered off.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
  3. Insert the Lithium Ion battery, ensuring proper polarity.
  4. Close the battery compartment securely.
  5. Connect the wall adapter to the multi-unit charging dock.
  6. Place the walkie talkies into the charging slots. The charging indicator light will illuminate.
  7. Allow approximately 4-6 hours for a full charge before first use.

2. Attaching the Belt Clip

  • Align the belt clip with the grooves on the back of the walkie talkie.
  • Slide the clip downwards until it clicks securely into place.
  • To remove, lift the tab on the belt clip and slide it upwards.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off and Volume Control

  • To power on, rotate the Volume/Power Knob clockwise until you hear a click and the unit powers on.
  • To power off, rotate the Volume/Power Knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the unit powers off.
  • Adjust the volume by rotating the Volume/Power Knob.

2. Channel Selection

  • The PX650 features 22 channels.
  • Rotate the Channel Knob to select your desired channel.
  • Ensure all radios in your group are set to the same channel for communication.

3. Privacy Codes (CTCSS/DCS)

  • The PX650 supports 121 privacy codes (38 CTCSS codes and 83 DCS codes).
  • To activate a privacy code, press the FUNC button, then use the Up/Down Arrows to select the desired code. Press FUNC again to confirm.
  • Privacy codes help reduce interference from other users on the same channel. All radios in your group must use the same channel and privacy code.

4. Push-To-Talk (PTT) Button

  • To transmit, press and hold the PTT button located on the side of the radio.
  • Speak clearly into the microphone, holding the radio approximately 2-3 inches from your mouth.
  • Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.

5. Voice-Activated Transmission (VOX)

  • VOX allows for hands-free operation. When activated, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning Your Radio

  • Wipe the radio's surface with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the radio is dry before placing it back in the charger or using it.

2. Battery Care

  • To maximize battery life, fully charge the batteries before first use.
  • Avoid overcharging or completely draining the batteries regularly.
