3. Setup Guide
3.1. Battery Installation
- To access the battery compartment, first remove the belt clip if attached. Pull back the small tab on the belt clip and push it out.
- Carefully open the battery cover on the back of the walkie talkie.
- Connect the rechargeable battery by sliding its connector into the designated port inside the compartment. Ensure a secure connection.
- Place the battery flat inside the compartment and close the cover until it clicks into place.
3.2. Charging the Radios
The walkie talkies come with USB charging cables and adapters. Each Y-cable can charge multiple units simultaneously. A full charge takes approximately 3 hours and provides up to 72 hours of standby time.
- Locate the charging port on the side of the walkie talkie (next to the earpiece/mic port).
- Connect one of the charging cable's plugs into the walkie talkie's charging port.
- Connect the USB end of the cable to the provided USB adapter, a PC, car charger, or power bank.
- The LCD screen will indicate charging status.

3.3. Attaching Accessories (Belt Clip & Lanyard)
The belt clip and lanyard can be easily attached or removed for convenient carrying.
- Belt Clip: To attach, align the belt clip with the grooves on the back of the walkie talkie and slide it down until it locks into place. To remove, pull back the small tab and push the clip upwards.
- Lanyard: The lanyard can be threaded through the small hole on the top of the walkie talkie, near the antenna. It features a quick-release button for easy detachment.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Power On/Off & Volume Control
- Power: Press and hold the 'MENU/Power' button to turn the walkie talkie on or off.
- Volume: Use the 'Up' and 'Down' arrow buttons to adjust the speaker volume. The LCD screen will display the current volume level.
4.2. Channel Selection & Privacy Codes
- The walkie talkies feature 22 FRS channels. To change channels, press the 'MENU' button once, then use the 'Up' or 'Down' arrow buttons to select your desired channel. Press 'MENU' again to confirm.
- Each channel supports 121 privacy codes (38 CTCSS codes and 83 DCS codes) for enhanced communication security. To set a privacy code, press 'MENU' twice, then use the 'Up' or 'Down' arrow buttons to select a code. Press 'MENU' again to confirm.
4.3. Push-to-Talk (PTT) & iVOX Hands-Free Communication
- PTT: To transmit, press and hold the 'PTT' button located on the side of the walkie talkie. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the button to listen.
- iVOX (Voice Activated): The iVOX feature allows for hands-free communication. When activated, the radio will transmit when it detects your voice, eliminating the need to press the PTT button. This is ideal for activities where your hands are occupied.
4.4. NOAA Weather Alert
The walkie talkies can access NOAA's National Weather Service channels to provide real-time weather alerts and updates, even in remote areas without cell service.
- To activate the weather scan, press and hold the 'NOAA/Scan' button.
- The radio will scan for available weather channels and broadcast alerts.
- To exit weather mode, press the 'NOAA/Scan' button again.

4.5. Keypad Lock
To prevent accidental changes to settings, you can lock the keypad.
- To lock the keypad, press and hold the 'Lock' button (often integrated with the 'Call' button) for two seconds. A lock icon will appear on the LCD screen.
- To unlock, press and hold the 'Lock' button again for two seconds.

4.6. Earpiece Usage
The included earpieces allow for private conversations and hands-free operation.
- Plug the earpiece into the 2.5mm earpiece jack on the side of the walkie talkie.

- Battery Draining Quickly: Ensure batteries are fully charged. Reduce backlight usage or iVOX sensitivity if not needed.
