1. Introduction

The EZVIZ CP4 is a wireless door peephole camera designed to enhance home security and convenience. It features a 4.3-inch color touch screen, 1080P video resolution, human detection, two-way audio, and night vision capabilities. This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance of your CP4 device.

2. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present in your package:

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Physical Installation

Before installation, ensure your door meets the following requirements:

  • Compatible Door Thickness: 35 mm to 105 mm.
  • Compatible Peephole Diameter: 16.5 mm to 50 mm.

If you have an existing peephole, carefully remove it. If not, drill a hole within the specified diameter. The optimal height for the peephole is approximately 145 cm (57 inches) from the ground for best viewing.

Select the appropriate screws based on your door's thickness. Attach the screws to the back of the outdoor camera unit. Carefully feed the camera's wire and screws through the peephole hole from the outside of the door. Ensure the doorbell icon on the outdoor unit is at the bottom.

On the inside of the door, pull the wire through the mounting base and align the screws with the mounting holes. Secure the mounting base by tightening the screws. Finally, connect the indoor monitor panel to the camera's wire and align it with the mounting base. Hold the dismantle button on the side of the monitor until it is securely buckled onto the mounting base.

3.2 App Setup and Wi-Fi Configuration

To set up your CP4, download the 'EZVIZ App' from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Launch the app and register for an EZVIZ account using your email address or phone number. You will receive a verification code to complete the registration.

Once logged in, tap the '+' icon in the upper right corner of the Home screen to add a new device. Select 'Door Viewers' from the device list. Scan the QR code displayed on your CP4 indoor monitor to add the device. If the QR code is not displayed, hold the Home button on the monitor for 5 seconds to reset and generate the QR code.

Connect your smartphone to your home's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Follow the on-screen instructions in the EZVIZ app to complete the Wi-Fi configuration and link your device. Ensure your phone and the CP4 are within 1.5 meters of each other for optimal network connection during setup.

4. Operating the CP4

4.1 Live View and Two-Way Talk

To view the live feed from your CP4, simply tap the Home button on the indoor monitor. You can also access the live view and communicate with visitors remotely via the EZVIZ app on your smartphone.

The CP4 supports two-way video calls, allowing you to speak with visitors at your door. For enhanced privacy, the device offers a voice change function, which can be activated through the EZVIZ app settings. This feature modifies your voice to protect your identity during conversations.

4.2 Motion Detection and Alerts

The CP4 is equipped with Smart Human Motion Detection, utilizing a PIR sensor with a 110° detection angle. When motion is detected, you will receive instant alerts on your smartphone via the EZVIZ app, ensuring 24/7 protection. The camera can identify human shapes, reducing false alarms.

4.3 Night Vision

The CP4 features IR night vision, providing clear visibility up to 5 meters (16 feet) even in complete darkness. This ensures reliable monitoring and identification of visitors at any time of day or night.

4.4 Ringtones

The CP4 functions as an elegant doorbell with multiple ringtone options. You can select from a variety of ringtones to personalize your doorbell sound through the device settings or the EZVIZ app.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Charging

The CP4 is powered by a 4600 mAh lithium battery, offering approximately 3 months of battery life depending on usage. To charge the device, connect the indoor monitor to a power outlet using the provided power adapter and cable. You can also remove the panel from the mounting base to charge it separately. When removing, gently hold the dismantle button while taking it off the base. Be careful when disconnecting the wire.

5.2 Storage Options

The CP4 supports flexible storage options:

  • MicroSD Card: Supports up to 256GB MicroSD card for local storage. Footage is stored securely on the card.
  • EZVIZ CloudPlay: Offers cloud storage for your footage (subscription may be required).

To manage recordings on the MicroSD card, you may need to format the card to delete multiple recordings. Individual deletion might not be supported directly on the device.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Language Change

If the device's default language is not English, you can change it through the settings on the indoor monitor:

  1. Go to Settings (top icon on the right side when display wakes up).
  2. Choose Firmware (bottom right blue icon).
  3. Tap Language (bottom right button).
  4. Select English (first from top) and confirm (top right button).

6.2 Connectivity Issues

If you experience issues with Wi-Fi connectivity or device pairing, ensure your home Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. You can reset the device by holding the Home button for 5 seconds and then repeat the app setup steps.

6.3 Display Issues

If the LCD screen is not displaying correctly or has connectivity issues, ensure the indoor monitor is pushed firmly into its mounting base to ensure proper connection with the camera's wire.
