Setup
Battery Installation
The Thomas engine requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). To install the batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the Thomas engine.
- Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 2 fresh AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
Assembly
The Thomas engine, tender, and flatbed connect using plastic connectors. Simply align the connectors and push them together until they click securely.

Operation
To operate your Thomas & Friends motorized toy train:
- Place the assembled train on a compatible Thomas & Friends track (sold separately) or a smooth, flat surface.
- Locate the red lever on top of the Thomas engine.
- Push the lever forward to turn the engine ON and start it moving.
- Push the lever backward to turn the engine OFF and stop it.

Compatibility
This motorized train is compatible with all Thomas & Friends track sets, with the exception of wooden tracks. It can also operate on various flat surfaces such as laminate floors, carpets, and rugs.
