3. Installation Guide
Follow these steps to securely install the SmallRig Full Camera Cage 3667B onto your compatible Sony Alpha camera.
3.1. Preparing the Camera
- If present, remove the shoulder strap hook from the left side of your camera. This is necessary to properly use the cage's locking slider.
3.2. Attaching the Cage (Three-Point Locking System)
- Align the camera with the cage, ensuring the bottom 1/4"-20 screw hole on the camera matches the corresponding hole on the cage.
- Insert and tighten the 1/4"-20 screw located at the bottom of the cage into the camera's tripod socket.
- Locate the M2.5 screw on the left side of the cage. This screw, along with the 1/4"-20 screw and a positioning pin, forms a three-point locking system for enhanced stability.
- Adjust the direction of the left locking slider to match your specific camera model:
- Use the [A7 IV] side for Sony Alpha 7 IV and Alpha 7R V.
- Use the [A7S III/A1] side for Sony Alpha 7S III, Alpha 1, and Alpha 7R IV.
- After fixing the bottom 1/4"-20 screw, retrieve the anti-deflection pin from its temporary storage hole and insert it into the corresponding position on the cage to further secure the camera.

- Inspection: Periodically check all screws and mounting points for tightness. Ensure the rubber gaskets are intact and free from damage.
- Storage: Store the cage in a dry, clean environment when not in use.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues and considerations when using the SmallRig Full Camera Cage 3667B.
- Cage Not Fitting Correctly: Ensure the left locking slider is set to the correct position for your specific camera model ([A7 IV] for Alpha 7 IV/7R V; [A7S III/A1] for Alpha 7S III/Alpha 1/7R IV). Verify that the shoulder strap hook on the camera's left side has been removed.
- Accessory Obstruction: Be aware that the SmallRig Cable Clamp for HDMI 3000 is not compatible with Alpha 1 and Alpha 7R IV when the cage is installed, as it may block the synchro terminal interface on the Alpha 7R V.
- Loose Camera: Confirm that both the 1/4"-20 screw and the M2.5 screw are fully tightened, and the anti-deflection pin is correctly seated.
