Introduction

The Signstek Digital Door Lock with Keypad offers a convenient and secure keyless entry solution for various doors. This electronic door knob is designed for ease of use and enhanced security, featuring multiple access codes and an automatic locking function.

What's Included

Before beginning installation, ensure all components are present:

Tools Required: A screwdriver and 4 AAA alkaline batteries (not included) are required for installation and operation.

Setup and Installation

1. Door Preparation

Ensure your door is prepared for installation. This lock fits most standard doors with an adjustable latch for 2-3/8-Inch (60mm) or 2-3/4-Inch (70mm) backset. Use the provided template to mark and drill holes if necessary.

2. Install the Latch

Insert the latch into the door edge and secure it with screws. Ensure the latch is oriented correctly for your door's swing direction.

3. Install Outside Knob

Feed the power cable from the outside knob through the latch mechanism and guide the spindle through until the outside rose sits flush against the door.

4. Install Inside Knob

Feed the power cable through the hole in the inside knob and guide the spindle into the handle. Secure the inside knob to the outside knob using the mounting screws.

5. Battery Installation

The lock requires 4 AAA alkaline batteries. Insert two batteries into each side of the battery box, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery compartment cover.

6. Connect Power Cable and Install Inside Cover Plate

Plug the power cable into the battery box. Position the battery box in line with the cover screw holes and fasten the screws to secure the cover plate to the inside knob.

Operating Instructions

Setting Codes

  • Master Code: The lock supports 1 master code for programming and managing other access codes.
  • Access Codes: You can set up to 9 individual access codes, each ranging from 4 to 15 digits in length.

Unlocking the Door

To unlock, enter your programmed access code followed by the '#' key. The keypad will illuminate, and a green light will indicate successful unlocking.

Automatic Locking Function

The door knob is equipped with an auto-lock function. It will automatically lock a few seconds after the door is closed, providing continuous security.

Mute Function

Activate the mute function to prevent audible beeps when entering codes. This feature enhances security by preventing others from discerning your code through sound.

Passage Mode

For temporary unrestricted access, activate the passage mode. In this mode, any digital key press will unlock the door. Refer to the detailed programming instructions for activation and deactivation steps.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the batteries are low, the lock will emit a continuous beep followed by a single beep upon unlocking. Replace all 4 AAA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.

Emergency Power Supply

In case the batteries completely run out, an emergency power supply is included. Connect this external battery pack to the designated port on the outside knob to temporarily power the lock and gain entry.

Cleaning

Clean the keypad and knob surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

Troubleshooting

  • Lock not responding: Check battery levels. Replace batteries if low. Use the emergency power supply if batteries are completely drained.
  • Code not working: Ensure the correct code is entered, followed by '#'. Verify the master code and access codes are programmed correctly.
  • Knob not turning: Ensure the latch is installed correctly and not obstructed. Check for any physical damage to the knob mechanism.
  • Intermittent issues: Ensure all connections are secure and screws are tightened appropriately.
