5. Operating Instructions
The circuit breaker features a simple ON/OFF toggle handle and a trip button.
- To Switch ON: Push the handle UP to the 'ON' position.
- To Switch OFF: Push the handle DOWN to the 'OFF' position.
- To Trip Manually: Press the RED Button. This will trip the circuit breaker, disconnecting power, regardless of whether the handle is in the ON or OFF position.
Important Note: If the circuit breaker is in a tripped state (red button extended), you may be unable to push the handle directly to the 'ON' position. First, push the handle DOWN to the 'OFF' position, then push it UP to the 'ON' position to restore power.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your circuit breaker.
- Visual Inspection: Periodically inspect the circuit breaker for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Cleaning: Keep the circuit breaker free from dust and debris. Use a dry, non-abrasive cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquids or solvents.
- Connection Check: Ensure all terminal connections remain tight. Loose connections can lead to overheating and potential failure.
- Function Test: Occasionally test the trip mechanism by pressing the red button to ensure it functions correctly.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your circuit breaker, consider the following common scenarios:
- Circuit Breaker Trips Frequently: This indicates an overload or short circuit in the protected circuit. Investigate the connected load for faults, excessive current draw, or damaged wiring. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker without identifying the cause.
- No Power After Reset: Ensure the handle is fully in the 'ON' position. If it was tripped, remember to push the handle to 'OFF' first, then 'ON'. If power still does not restore, check the power source and wiring for issues.
- Circuit Breaker is Hot: Overheating can be caused by an overload, loose connections, or an undersized breaker for the application. Immediately disconnect power and investigate.
If problems persist, consult a qualified electrician or contact DIHOOL customer support.
