- 1x bottle 522 Black (65 mL) ink
- 1x bottle each 522 Cyan, Magenta, Yellow (65 mL) ink
Setup
1. Initial Ink Filling
The EcoTank ET-4800 uses high-capacity ink tanks instead of traditional cartridges. Follow these steps to fill the ink tanks:
- Open the ink tank unit cover on the side of the printer.
- Open the cap for each color ink tank (Black, Yellow, Magenta, Cyan).
- Unpack the corresponding ink bottle. Each bottle has a unique key to prevent accidental filling of the wrong color.
- Insert the ink bottle into the filling port. The ink will automatically stop flowing when the tank is full.
- Remove the bottle and close the ink tank cap securely. Repeat for all colors.

Operating the Printer
Loading Paper
Load paper into the rear paper feeder. Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size. The maximum input sheet capacity is 100 sheets.
Printing
You can print from a computer, smartphone, or tablet. Ensure the printer is connected to your network. For optimal results, use the Epson Smart Panel app for mobile printing.
- From Computer: Select "Print" from your application, choose the ET-4800, and adjust settings as needed.
- From Mobile Device: Download the Epson Smart Panel app. Select your printer, choose the document or photo, and adjust print settings.
Scanning
The ET-4800 features a high-resolution flatbed scanner and an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
- Flatbed Scanning: Place the document or photo face-down on the scanner glass.
- ADF Scanning: Load multiple pages face-up into the ADF.
- Initiate the scan from the printer's control panel or from your computer/mobile device using Epson software.
Copying
Place the document on the scanner glass or in the ADF. Use the printer's color display to select "Copy" and adjust settings like number of copies (up to 100), color/black & white, and paper size.
Faxing
The ET-4800 includes fax functionality. Connect a phone line to the printer. Use the control panel to enter the recipient's fax number and send documents.
Maintenance
Checking Ink Levels
You can visually check the ink levels through the transparent ink tanks on the front of the printer. The printer's display or the Epson Smart Panel app can also provide ink level status.
Cleaning the Print Head
If print quality declines (e.g., missing lines, faded colors), perform a print head cleaning. This can be done through the printer's maintenance menu or Epson software on your computer.
Nozzle Check
Before cleaning, perform a nozzle check to diagnose print quality issues. This prints a pattern that helps identify clogged nozzles.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Solution |
|---|---|
| Printer not turning on | Ensure power cord is securely connected to both printer and outlet. Check the power outlet. |
| Poor print quality | Perform a nozzle check and print head cleaning. Ensure genuine Epson ink is used. Check paper type settings. |
| Printer not connecting to Wi-Fi | Verify Wi-Fi password. Ensure printer is within range of the router. Restart printer and router. |
| Paper jams | Remove all jammed paper carefully. Ensure paper is loaded correctly and not creased or torn. |
