2. Winding the Watch

Your Spinnaker Hull Diver is equipped with a Japanese TMI NH35 24 Jewels self-winding automatic movement. While it winds itself with wrist motion, it may require initial manual winding if it has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period.

  1. Unscrew the crown counter-clockwise to the first position (unlocked).
  2. Turn the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times to manually wind the mainspring.
  3. The watch will begin to run.
3. Setting the Time and Date
  1. Unscrew the crown counter-clockwise to the first position (unlocked).
  2. Pull the crown out to the second position. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement.
  3. Pull the crown out to the third position. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set by observing if the date changes when passing midnight.
  4. Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into the first position and screw it clockwise firmly against the case to ensure water resistance.
4. Bracelet Adjustment

The solid stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links. It is recommended to have this procedure performed by a qualified watchmaker or jeweler to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch.

Operating Your Watch

Automatic Movement

The watch is powered by an automatic movement, meaning it is wound by the motion of your wrist. When worn daily, it should maintain its power reserve. If the watch is not worn for approximately 40 hours, it will stop and require manual winding as described in the Setup section.

Water Resistance (30 ATM / 300m)

Your Spinnaker Hull Diver watch is designed for professional diving and is water-resistant up to 300 meters (30 ATM). Ensure the crown is always screwed down tightly before any contact with water to maintain its water resistance. Do not operate the crown or pushers (if applicable) while the watch is wet or submerged.

Unidirectional Rotating Bezel

The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel, which is a critical tool for divers to measure elapsed time underwater. To use it:

  1. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise until the zero marker aligns with the minute hand.
  2. The minute hand will then indicate the elapsed time on the bezel.
  3. The unidirectional design prevents accidental clockwise rotation, which could overestimate dive time.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your watch, use a soft, damp cloth. For the stainless steel bracelet, a soft brush with mild soap and water can be used, ensuring to rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish or seals.

Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. The original watch box is ideal for storage.

Professional Servicing

For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to have your automatic watch serviced by an authorized service center every 3-5 years. This includes checking the movement, replacing seals, and ensuring water resistance.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: If the watch has stopped, manually wind it using the crown (20-30 turns). If it still does not run, ensure it has sufficient power reserve by wearing it regularly or winding it.
  • Date Not Changing Correctly: Ensure the time is set correctly, especially the AM/PM cycle. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM.
  • Condensation Under Crystal: This indicates a potential breach in water resistance. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center to prevent further damage to the movement.
  • Inaccurate Timekeeping: Automatic watches can have slight variations in timekeeping. If the inaccuracy is significant (e.g., more than +/- 30 seconds per day), it may require regulation by a professional watchmaker.
