1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your RATTMMOTOR 2.2KW 220V Air Cooled CNC Spindle Motor Kit. This kit includes a 2.2KW air-cooled spindle motor with an ER20 nut and collet, and a matching 2.2KW Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).
The spindle motor operates at 220V-2.2KW with a 6A current and a frequency of 400Hz. It features a precision tapered bore of less than 0.005mm and a runout of less than 0.01mm. The speed range is 0-24000 RPM.
The VFD (Control Model: SPWN) has a power output of 2.2KW. It accepts 1 or 3 phase 220V input at 0-50Hz/60Hz and provides a 3 phase 220V output at 0-400Hz. It supports RS-485 communication control and operates within a temperature range of -10 to 40℃. The VFD features a five-digit display and status indicator lamps to show frequency, current, revolution, voltage, counter, temperature, running direction, and fault status.
Safety Warning: This equipment operates with lethal voltages. Ensure all wiring and connections are performed by qualified personnel and adhere to local electrical codes. Always disconnect power before performing any installation or maintenance.

3.1. Wiring the Spindle Motor to the VFD
The spindle motor's aviation plug is marked with U1, V1, W1. These ports must be connected to the VFD's U, V, W ports respectively. Ensure correct phase connection.

Figure 3.2: Wiring Diagram. Connect the spindle motor's U1, V1, W1 to the VFD's U, V, W terminals. Ensure proper grounding.
For detailed connection to the spindle motor's junction box:
- Unscrew the top cover of the junction box.
- Unscrew the retaining screw and washer inside.
- Connect the motor wires (U, V, W) to the corresponding terminals.
- The three lines are free to choose the terminal, but maintain the correct phase sequence (U to U1, V to V1, W to W1).

4. Operating Instructions
This section outlines the general operation of the spindle motor and VFD.
4.1. Spindle Motor Operation
The spindle motor is designed for high-speed operation. Its speed range is 0-24000 RPM.
- Minimum Operating Speed: During use, the spindle speed must not be lower than 9000 RPM to ensure proper cooling and prevent damage.
- Direction of Rotation: The spindle does not support reversal. Ensure it always rotates in the forward direction.

Figure 4.1: Spindle Motor Speed Range. The spindle operates at speeds from 0 to 24000 RPM.
4.2. VFD Control Panel
The VFD control panel allows for precise control and monitoring of the spindle motor.

Figure 4.2: VFD Control Panel. Features an LED display, speed controller, and various function keys for operation.
- LED Display: Shows operational parameters such as frequency, current, revolution, voltage, and temperature.
- Control Buttons: Includes Run, Stop/Reset, FOR/REV switch, Function key, Shift key (DISP), Set key (enter), and Increment/Decrement keys for parameter adjustment.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your spindle motor kit.
- Cleanliness: Keep the spindle motor and VFD free from dust, debris, and metal shavings. Use compressed air to clean cooling fins and vents regularly.
- Cooling: Ensure adequate airflow around the VFD for effective heat dissipation. The VFD features a DC cooling fan for low noise and high volume airflow.
- Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion.

Figure 5.1: VFD Cooling System. The VFD is designed with fast heat dissipation and a low-noise, high-volume DC cooling fan.
6. Troubleshooting
The VFD is equipped with multiple protection functions to prevent damage and assist in troubleshooting common issues.
- Protection Functions: The VFD includes overload protection, FUSE broken-motor stops protection, over-voltage/low-voltage protection, restart by frequency track after instantaneous stop, anti-stall during acceleration/deceleration, electronic circuit protection, over-heat protection, restriction of reverse running, direct start after power on, fault reset, parameter lock PID, and one-drive-more capabilities.
- Incorrect Spindle Rotation: If the spindle motor rotates backward, switch any two of the three phase wires (U, V, W) connecting the VFD to the motor. Do not alter the 220V power input wires.
