2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation
The FS8233 Multimeter requires two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries (not included) for operation.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the multimeter.
- Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
- Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
2.2 Test Lead Connection
Proper connection of test leads is crucial for accurate and safe measurements.
- The black test lead should always be inserted into the COM (Common) jack, which is typically the middle jack.
- When measuring current (Amps), the red test lead should be inserted into the 10A MAX jack (left jack).
- When measuring other functions (Voltage, Resistance, Capacitance, Diode, Temperature), the red test lead should be inserted into the VΩHz jack (right jack).

3. Operating Instructions
The FS8233 Digital Multimeter offers a range of functions for various electrical tests.
3.1 General Measurement
To perform a measurement:
- Connect the test leads as described in Section 2.2.
- Turn on the multimeter using the power button.
- Select the desired measurement function (e.g., AC Voltage, DC Voltage, Resistance, Capacitance) using the mode button or rotary switch (if applicable). The FS8233 features automatic range selection for most functions.
- Apply the test leads to the circuit or component to be measured.
- Read the measurement value on the large LCD screen.

3.2 Key Features
- Large LCD Screen: Provides a clear and easy-to-read display, even in low-light conditions, thanks to its backlight feature.
- Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection: Allows for safe detection of AC voltage without direct contact with wires, minimizing the risk of electric shock.
- Buzzer Function: The internal buzzer will sound if the resistance of the tested circuit is less than 50Ω, indicating continuity.
- Neutral Live Wire Detection: Helps identify live and neutral wires for safer electrical work.
- Data Retention: Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display for convenient recording.
- Flashlight: Integrated flashlight for illuminating dark work areas.
- Automatic Shutdown: The multimeter will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

4. Maintenance
4.1 General Care
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your FS8233 Digital Multimeter:
- Keep the device clean and dry. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Avoid exposing the multimeter to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Store the multimeter in a safe place when not in use, away from dust and potential damage.
- The multimeter is constructed from durable ABS and PVC materials, designed for long-term use and resistance to wear.

4.2 Battery Replacement
Replace the batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display to ensure accurate readings and proper operation. Refer to Section 2.1 for battery installation steps.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your FS8233 Digital Multimeter, consider the following common solutions:
- No Display or Faint Display: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Incorrect Readings: Ensure test leads are properly connected to the correct jacks for the selected function. Verify the measurement range is appropriate (though the FS8233 has auto-ranging).
- Overload Protection: The multimeter features built-in explosion-proof ceramic tube and full-scale reverse polarity and overload protection. If an overload occurs, disconnect the leads from the circuit immediately. The device is designed to protect itself from damage.
- Buzzer Not Sounding for Continuity: Ensure the circuit resistance is below 50Ω. If it is, and the buzzer still doesn't sound, check test lead connections.
If problems persist, contact Walfront customer support for assistance.
