Important Note: Due to continuous updates to camera firmware, please scan the QR code provided in the physical manual or visit our official website to update the latest firmware for the remote control. Before using the multi-camera control function, be sure to read this manual carefully.

Setup
1. Charging the Remote
Connect the supplied USB magnetic charging cable to the magnetic charging point on the remote and to a USB power source. The OLED screen will indicate charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 1 hour. The magnetic charging point is designed to be completely waterproof and dust-proof without additional protective covers.
2. Pairing with GoPro Camera
To pair your YOCTOP Smart Remote with your GoPro camera:
- Ensure your GoPro camera is powered on and in pairing mode.
- On your GoPro camera, navigate to the connection options and select "gopro app" for pairing.
- Follow the on-screen prompts on both the remote and the camera to complete the pairing process.
Compatibility: The remote is compatible with GoPro HERO13, HERO12, HERO11 Black, MINI HERO10, HERO 9, HERO 8, and MAX. For HERO7 Black, HERO7 Silver, HERO6 Black, and HERO5 Black/Session, ensure you select "gopro app" in the camera connection options during pairing. Please note: This remote does NOT support new Hero 2024 and HERO 2018 models.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Controls and Buttons
The YOCTOP Smart Remote features an intuitive button layout for easy control of your GoPro camera.

- Power/Mode Button: Press to power on/off the remote and cycle through main modes.
- Shutter/Select Button (Red Circle): Press to start/stop recording or take a photo.
- Shortcut Button (Star Icon): Quickly jump to a pre-set favorite sub-mode.
- Settings/Highlight Button (Wrench Icon): Access settings or add a Highlight Tag during recording.
2. OLED Screen Display
The self-luminous OLED screen provides detailed information about your camera's status and settings.

You can view detailed parameters such as the current sub-mode, shooting time, resolution, frame rate, and lens settings. This helps prevent incorrect shooting settings or wasted time.
3. Mode Switching and Shortcut Function
Easily switch between main modes and sub-modes. The shortcut button allows you to set your most frequently used sub-mode as a favorite. No matter what mode you are currently in, pressing the shortcut key will directly jump to your pre-set favorite sub-mode, saving time.

4. Quick Capture
The remote supports a one-click quick capture feature. With a single press, you can wake up the camera and automatically start recording, ensuring you don't miss any moments.
5. Rotatable Display
The screen content can be rotated, making it easier to view when the remote is mounted on a bicycle handlebar, worn on the wrist, or in other orientations.

6. Colorful Indicators
The remote features three colorful indicators that correspond to the three main camera modes (Video, Photo, Timelapse). These indicators allow you to easily know the camera's status by color, whether in sunlight, darkness, extreme weather, or during high-speed movement.

7. Multiple Camera Control
The YOCTOP Smart Remote is capable of controlling up to 6 GoPro cameras simultaneously, making it ideal for multi-angle setups.
8. Mounting Options
The remote is designed to be wearable and mountable. It can be easily fixed to the wrist using the included strap, or mounted on bicycle handlebars, steering wheels, fishing rods, and selfie sticks.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Wipe the remote with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the magnetic charging port is clean and free of debris.
2. Firmware Updates
The firmware of the remote control can be upgraded. Regularly check the official YOCTOP website (via the QR code in your physical manual) for the latest firmware updates to ensure compatibility and optimal performance with new GoPro camera models and features.
3. Waterproofing
The remote is rainproof. The magnetic charging port design ensures it is completely waterproof and dust-proof, preventing sand and salt crystals from seawater from entering the connector gap. While rainproof, avoid prolonged submersion.
Troubleshooting
- Remote not powering on: Ensure the remote is fully charged. Connect it to the USB magnetic charging cable and a power source.
- Remote not pairing with GoPro:
- Ensure both the remote and GoPro are fully charged.
- Verify that your GoPro model is compatible (refer to the Compatibility section).
- On your GoPro, select "gopro app" in the connection options during pairing.
- Try restarting both the remote and the GoPro camera.
- Check for and install any available firmware updates for both the remote and your GoPro camera.
- OLED screen not displaying correctly: Ensure the remote is powered on and charged. If the issue persists, try restarting the remote.
- Buttons not responding: Ensure the remote is powered on. Check for any physical obstructions or debris around the buttons.
- Limited control distance: Ensure there are no significant obstructions between the remote and the camera. Environmental factors can affect Bluetooth range.
