2.3 Water Cooling System Setup:

The compressor requires a water cooling system for proper operation. Connect the included water pump and tubes as follows:

  • Connect one end of the water tube to the water inlet (6) and the other end to the water outlet (5).
  • Place the water pump into a bucket of water (not supplied). Ensure the pump is fully submerged.
  • Connect the water pump to its power source. The water pump should run continuously during compressor operation.

2.4 Oil Filling:

The compressor is shipped without oil. It is crucial to fill it with the correct type and amount of oil before first use.

  • Use only ISO VG46 (AW46) standard hydraulic oil.
  • Unscrew the oil fill/vent hole cap (8).
  • Carefully pour the oil until the level reaches the middle of the oil level indicator (10). Do not overfill.
  • Replace the oil fill/vent hole cap.

3. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your CREWORKS air compressor.

3.1 Pre-Operation Checklist:

  • Ensure the compressor is placed on a stable, level surface.
  • Confirm the water cooling system is properly set up and the pump is submerged.
  • Check the oil level.
  • Connect the high-pressure hose (12) to the tank or device you intend to fill using the quick connector (14).
  • Ensure the drain valve (17) is closed.

3.2 Starting the Compressor:

  • Plug the power cord into a standard 220V electrical outlet.
  • Turn on the water pump.
  • Flip the main power switch (1) to the "ON" position.
  • Press the start/stop button (3) to begin compression.
  • Monitor the pressure gauge (4) and the digital temperature display (2).

3.3 Monitoring and Shut-off:

  • The compressor can be set to automatically stop at a desired pressure between 750 and 4500 psi (50-300 bars) using the pressure gauge/regulator (4).
  • Continuously monitor the temperature. If the temperature exceeds 60°C (140°F), stop the compressor immediately and allow it to cool down.
  • Once the desired pressure is reached, the compressor will automatically shut off, or you can manually stop it by pressing the start/stop button (3).
  • After stopping the compressor, turn off the main power switch (1) and the water pump.
  • Slowly open the drain valve (17) to release any residual pressure in the system before disconnecting the hose.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your compressor.

4.1 Oil Change:

  • Change the oil after the first 10-15 minutes of use to remove any metal shavings from initial break-in.
  • Subsequently, change the oil every 50 hours of operation or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
  • To change oil, place a container under the oil drain hole (11), unscrew the cap, and allow all old oil to drain.
  • Replace the cap and refill with fresh ISO VG46 (AW46) hydraulic oil as described in Section 2.4.

4.2 Water Cooling System:

  • Always use clean water in the cooling system.
  • For extended operation or in hot environments, consider adding ice to the water bucket to maintain lower temperatures.
  • Regularly check the water tubes for kinks or blockages.

4.3 Air Filter:

  • Inspect the air filter (15) regularly.
  • Clean or replace the filter element if it appears dirty or clogged to ensure optimal air intake and prevent damage to the compressor.

4.4 General Cleaning:

  • Keep the exterior of the compressor clean and free of dust and debris.
  • Ensure ventilation openings are clear.

5. Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Compressor does not start. No power, power switch off, motor overload.Check power connection. Ensure power switch is ON. Allow motor to cool if overheated.
Compressor overheats quickly.Insufficient water cooling, low oil level, prolonged operation.Ensure water pump is running and water level is adequate. Check oil level and refill if necessary. Allow compressor to cool down between uses.
Low pressure output.Air leaks, clogged air filter, worn piston rings.Check all connections for leaks. Clean or replace air filter. Contact customer support if piston rings are suspected.
Excessive noise or vibration.Loose components, improper placement, internal issue.Check and tighten any loose screws. Ensure compressor is on a stable, level surface. If noise persists, contact customer support.
Water in air output.Water/oil separator not functioning, high humidity.Ensure the water/oil separator (13) is properly installed and maintained. Drain moisture from the separator regularly.
