- WARNING: To avoid electric shock, disconnect power at the main circuit breaker panel or main fuse box before beginning installation.
- WARNING: This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with these codes, it is recommended to have a qualified electrician perform the installation.
- Do not install any fixture closer than 6 inches from any combustible material.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.
- Use only the specified bulb type and wattage.
Package Contents
Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all parts on a clear surface. Ensure all components listed below are present before discarding packaging materials.

Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully to install your Patriot Lighting Ashtyn Island Light.
- Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power to the junction box is turned off at the circuit breaker.
- Prepare Mounting: Attach the mounting crossbar to the junction box using the provided screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Adjust Chain Length: The light is suspended by two chains, each measuring 52-1/4 inches. Determine the desired hanging height for your fixture. Use pliers to carefully bend open the necessary links on the chains to shorten them to your preferred length. Close the links securely after adjustment.
- Wire Connections:
- Connect the bare copper ground wire from the fixture to the green or bare copper ground wire from the junction box. Secure with a wire nut.
- Connect the white (neutral) wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box. Secure with a wire nut.
- Connect the black (hot) wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box. Secure with a wire nut.
- Ensure all wire nuts are tightly secured and no bare wire is exposed. Wrap electrical tape around wire nuts for added security if desired.
- Attach Canopy: Carefully push the canopy up to the ceiling, covering the junction box and wiring. Secure it to the mounting crossbar using the provided screws.
- Install Bulbs: Screw the three included 60W vintage-style bulbs into the sockets. Do not overtighten.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker and test your new light fixture.

Operating Instructions
The Patriot Lighting Ashtyn Island Light operates like any standard ceiling light fixture. Once properly installed and wired, it can be controlled by a wall switch connected to the circuit.
- Turning On/Off: Use the wall switch to turn the light fixture on or off.
- Dimming: If connected to a compatible dimmer switch (not included), the light output can be adjusted. Ensure the bulbs used are also dimmable.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your light fixture.
- Cleaning: Always turn off the power before cleaning. Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes as they may damage the finish.
- Bulb Replacement: Ensure the power is off and the bulbs have cooled before attempting to replace them. Unscrew the old bulb and screw in a new 60W maximum, E26 base (standard medium base) vintage-style bulb.
