3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble and prepare your teleprompter for use:

  1. Install the Teleprompter on a Tripod: Secure the main body of the teleprompter onto a sturdy tripod using the appropriate mounting points.
  2. Install the Liftable Mount: Attach the liftable mount to the teleprompter frame. This mount allows for height adjustment of your camera.
  3. Fix the Base Plate under the Camera: Attach the quick-release base plate to the bottom of your DSLR or camcorder.
  4. Secure the Camera: Mount your camera onto the liftable mount and tighten the screw to ensure it is stable.
  5. Attach the Sun Hood: Paste the sun hood onto the glass frame using the integrated fasteners. This helps to block ambient light and improve text visibility.
  6. Place Prompting Device: Position your iPad, tablet, or smartphone onto the clamps provided for the prompting script. Ensure it is securely held.

4.1 Using the Remote Control and Desview App

The teleprompter kit includes a Bluetooth remote control for managing your script. Download the official "Desview" app from your device's app store (compatible with Android and iOS). The remote allows you to:

  • Play/Pause the scrolling text.
  • Adjust the scrolling speed (slow down/speed up).
  • Navigate through the script.

4.2 Wide-Angle Shooting

The teleprompter supports wide-angle shooting without vignetting. For DSLR and tablet prompting, it accommodates horizontal shooting with a focal length of 24mm or more, and vertical shooting with a focal length of 35mm or less. This ensures that the teleprompter frame does not appear in your shot.

  • Cleaning the Beam Splitter Glass: Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently wipe the 70/30 beam splitter glass. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could damage the 26 coated layers. Regular cleaning prevents dust and smudges from affecting text clarity.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the teleprompter in its portable carry bag. The bag is designed to protect the device during transport and storage, preventing scratches and impacts.
