Setup Guide

1. Initial Setup & Pairing

The C81 is designed for hassle-free setup with no driver installation required. Simply plug it into your device's USB-C port, and it will automatically enter pairing mode for first-time use.

1. Plug in the C81: Insert the C81 dongle into an available USB-C port on your device (PS5, Switch, PC/Laptop). If your device only has USB-A ports, use the included USB-A to USB-C adapter cable.
2. Pairing Mode: For first-time use, the C81 will automatically enter pairing mode (LED will flash blue and white). For subsequent uses, press and hold the Multi-Function Button (MFB) on the C81 until the LED flashes blue and white to manually enter pairing mode.
3. Headphone Pairing: Put your Bluetooth headphones or speakers into pairing mode. Refer to your audio device's user manual for specific instructions.
4. Connect: Keep the C81 and your audio device close to each other. They should automatically connect within a few seconds. The C81's LED will turn solid blue once connected.

2. Device-Specific Configuration

For PlayStation 5 (PS5)

After connecting the C81 and pairing your headphones, you need to adjust the audio settings on your PS5.

• Go to Settings > Sound.
• Under Audio Output, set Output Device to "USB Headset (Avantree C81)".
• It is recommended to turn off "Switch Output Device Automatically" to prevent the PS5 from switching audio output to other devices.
• For voice chat, ensure the Input Device under Microphone is set to "Controller Headset" if using the included analog mic with your controller.

For PC/Laptop (Windows/Mac)

After connecting the C81 and pairing your headphones, you need to adjust the audio settings on your computer.

• Go to your PC's Sound Settings Menu.
• Change the Audio Input & Output Device to "Avantree C81".
• If using meeting software (e.g., Skype), ensure you select "Avantree C81" as the default input and output device within the software's settings.

3. Connection Issues / Re-pairing

• Ensure both the C81 and your Bluetooth headphones are in pairing mode.
