4.2 Wiring
Proper wiring is crucial for safe and reliable operation. Refer to the diagram below for connection points.
- Power Input: Connect your LiPo battery's positive (+) and negative (-) terminals to the corresponding pads on the ESC. For 6S usage, an extra 1000uF 35V electrolytic capacitor must be soldered to the main power pads to filter voltage spikes. The input cable (from LiPo to 4in1) should be at least 12AWG and well soldered.
- Flight Controller Connection: Use the provided 8-pin cables to connect the ESC to your flight controller. Ensure correct pin orientation for signal, ground, and telemetry connections.
- Motor Connections: Solder your motor wires to the designated motor pads (M1, M2, M3, M4) on the ESC. Ensure correct motor rotation direction during initial setup.

5. Configuration
The Tekko32 F4 Metal 65A 4in1 ESC uses BLHELI32 firmware, which can be configured using the BLHELI32 Suite software. Connect your flight controller to your computer and use the pass-through feature in your flight controller firmware (e.g., Betaflight, Emuflight) to access the ESCs.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and apply the latest BLHELI32 firmware updates for optimal performance and bug fixes.
- Motor Direction: Adjust motor direction in the BLHELI32 Suite if necessary, or reverse it in your flight controller software.
- PWM Frequency: The default PWM output is 48K. This can be adjusted up to 96K in the BLHELI32 Suite. Higher PWM frequencies can result in smoother motor operation but may increase heat generation.
- Current Sensor Calibration: The amperage meter scale ratio is pre-adjusted to 168. If you experience inaccurate current readings, you may need to fine-tune this value in your flight controller's OSD settings.
6. Operation
Once installed and configured, the ESC operates in conjunction with your flight controller to drive the drone's motors. Ensure all connections are secure before applying power.
- Pre-Flight Check: Always perform a thorough pre-flight check, including motor spin direction, propeller security, and battery voltage.
- Power On: Connect the LiPo battery. The ESC will typically emit a series of beeps indicating successful initialization.
- Flight: Operate your drone as usual. The ESC will translate the flight controller's commands into motor speed adjustments.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and reliability of your ESC.
- Cleaning: Keep the ESC free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use compressed air or a soft brush for cleaning.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect solder joints and cables for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
- Heat Management: Adequate airflow is critical, especially when running the ESC at high currents. Ensure the ESC is not obstructed and has sufficient cooling.
- Storage: Store the ESC in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Motor not spinning | Loose motor connection, incorrect motor direction, ESC not armed, faulty motor. | Check solder joints, verify motor direction in BLHELI32 Suite, ensure flight controller is armed, test with a different motor. |
| ESC overheating | Insufficient airflow, excessive current draw, incorrect motor timing. | Improve airflow around the ESC, reduce propeller size or pitch, check motor timing settings in BLHELI32 Suite. |
| Inaccurate current readings | Incorrect current sensor calibration. | Adjust the amperage meter scale ratio in your flight controller's OSD settings. |
| ESC not detected by BLHELI32 Suite | Incorrect flight controller pass-through settings, driver issues, faulty USB cable. | Verify flight controller pass-through is enabled, reinstall USB drivers, try a different USB cable. |
9. Safety Information
- Always disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance or installation.
- Never operate the ESC with damaged wires or components.
- Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating, especially during high-current operation.
- Keep away from water and moisture.
- This product is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.
- Exercise caution when handling LiPo batteries, as they can be dangerous if mishandled.
