4. Setup
4.1 Transmitter Battery Installation
The DUMBORC X5 transmitter requires 4 AA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the transmitter.
- Slide the cover open or remove it according to its design.
- Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Receiver Connection
Connect the X6F receiver to your RC model's electronic speed controller (ESC), steering servo, and any auxiliary components. The X6F receiver has 6 channels:
- CH1: Steering Servo
- CH2: Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) / Throttle
- CH3-CH5: Auxiliary Channels (for lights, winches, gear shifts, etc.)
- BAT: Battery input (if not powered via ESC)
Ensure all connections are made with correct polarity. Incorrect connections can damage the receiver or other electronic components.

4.3 Binding Procedure (Transmitter and Receiver)
To establish communication between the transmitter and receiver, they must be bound. Follow these steps:
- Ensure the transmitter batteries are installed and the transmitter is turned OFF.
- Connect the receiver to power (e.g., via the ESC or a separate battery pack). The receiver's LED should flash rapidly, indicating it's in binding mode.
- Press and hold the BIND button on the receiver.
- While holding the BIND button, turn ON the transmitter.
- Release the BIND button on the receiver once the receiver's LED turns solid, indicating a successful bind.
- Turn OFF both the transmitter and receiver, then turn them ON again to confirm the binding. The receiver LED should be solid.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Controls
- Steering Wheel: Controls the left and right direction of your model (CH1).
- Throttle Trigger: Pull to accelerate forward, push to brake or reverse (CH2).

5.2 Advanced Adjustments
The DUMBORC X5 transmitter features several adjustment options, typically located under a protective cover on the top of the transmitter:

- ST.TRIM (Steering Trim): Adjusts the neutral position of the steering servo. Use this to make your model drive straight without steering input.
- TH.TRIM (Throttle Trim): Adjusts the neutral position of the throttle. Use this to ensure the motor stops when the trigger is at neutral.
- ST.D/R (Steering Dual Rate): Adjusts the maximum steering angle. Lower values reduce steering sensitivity, higher values increase it.
- TH.D/R (Throttle Dual Rate): Adjusts the maximum throttle output. Lower values reduce maximum speed, higher values increase it.
- CH3/CH4/CH5 Knobs/Switches: Control auxiliary channels. Refer to your model's specific instructions for their functions.
- REV (Reverse Switches): Reverses the direction of a channel's output. If your steering or throttle operates in reverse, flip the corresponding REV switch.
5.3 Voltage Alarm Setting
The transmitter features a low voltage alarm. You can typically set the alarm threshold to 7.4V or 4.8V, depending on your battery type (e.g., 2S LiPo or 4x AA NiMH/Alkaline). Consult the specific switch or button for this setting, usually found within the adjustment panel.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the transmitter and receiver. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Storage: Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from the transmitter if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Battery Care: Always use fresh batteries or fully charged rechargeable batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries.
- Antenna: Ensure the receiver antenna is properly routed and not cut or damaged, as this can significantly reduce range.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power to Transmitter: Check battery installation and polarity. Ensure batteries are fresh or fully charged.
- No Control/Loss of Signal: Re-bind the transmitter and receiver. Check all connections between the receiver and model components. Ensure the receiver antenna is not damaged.
- Limited Range: Check for environmental interference (e.g., large metal objects, other 2.4GHz devices). Ensure receiver antenna is properly positioned and undamaged. Verify transmitter battery level.
- Controls Operating in Reverse: Use the REV switches on the transmitter to correct the direction of the affected channel.
- Model Not Driving Straight: Adjust the ST.TRIM knob on the transmitter until the model tracks straight.
- Motor Not Stopping at Neutral: Adjust the TH.TRIM knob on the transmitter.
8. Safety Information
- Always operate your RC model in a safe and open area, away from people, pets, and obstacles.
- Never operate your RC model near public roads or in crowded areas.
- Ensure the transmitter is turned ON before the receiver, and turned OFF after the receiver, to prevent loss of control.
- Keep the transmitter and receiver away from water and moisture.
- Do not attempt to modify the transmitter or receiver, as this may void your warranty and cause unsafe operation.
- Always disconnect the battery from your RC model when not in use.
