Operating Instructions
1. Charcoal Loading and Ignition
- Access Doors: Open the front-opening doors to access the charcoal trays. This allows for easy addition of charcoal and adjustment of the fire without lifting the grilling grates.
- Charcoal Placement: Distribute charcoal evenly on the trays. For indirect cooking, place charcoal on one side or in specific zones.
- Ignition: Use a charcoal chimney starter or approved lighter fluid to ignite the charcoal. Allow charcoal to ash over before placing food on the grates.

2. Temperature Control
- Adjustable Charcoal Trays: Utilize the side handles to raise or lower the two independently adjustable charcoal trays. Raising the trays increases heat intensity for searing, while lowering them reduces heat for slower cooking or smoking.
- Lid-Mounted Thermometer: Monitor the internal grill temperature using the built-in thermometer on the lid.
- Side Dampers: Adjust the two side dampers to control airflow. Opening the dampers increases airflow and temperature, while closing them reduces airflow and temperature.

3. Cooking Area Usage
- Main Cooking Grates: The 505 sq. in. porcelain-enameled iron cooking grates are ideal for direct grilling of meats, vegetables, and other foods.
- Warming Rack: The 289 sq. in. chromed warming rack is suitable for keeping cooked food warm, toasting buns, or slow-cooking delicate items.

4. Additional Features
- Foldable Side Shelves: Use the two foldable side shelves for holding grilling tools, plates, or seasonings. They can be folded down for compact storage.
- Bottle Opener: A built-in bottle opener is provided for convenience.
- S-shaped Hooks: Utilize the S-shaped hooks on the side shelves for hanging grilling utensils.

- Warming Rack: The chromed warming rack is durable and easy to maintain. Wipe with a damp cloth after use.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the grill with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish.
- Storage: Store the grill in a dry, covered area when not in use to protect it from weather elements.
Troubleshooting
- Difficulty Controlling Temperature: Ensure side dampers are properly adjusted for airflow. Check that charcoal trays are at the correct height for desired heat. Use the lid-mounted thermometer to monitor.
- Uneven Heating: Distribute charcoal evenly across the trays. Adjust charcoal tray heights as needed for different heat zones.
- Excessive Smoke: Ensure proper airflow through the dampers. Avoid using too much lighter fluid.
- Ash Buildup: Regularly empty the ash pan to prevent airflow restriction and maintain efficient burning.
